[QUOTE=JJLehto]OK seriously dude you need to just chill out. Retaliation? Smearsters?

I bet I can find at least 50 comments(thats low balling it too) on what a Douche Bag(E-Dub's tasteful words I believe) Favre is, how people want him injured, how much he stinks, etc,, on this thread. I love talking football with people who have something useful to say, but this grows tiresome year after year. I think Favre was great BUT he is not even on my favorite team, so this isn't some fanboy's neverending love for the guy...I know his faults and I know his strengths, but please enough is enough folks.

As for me. I am a Raider fan, so these days I keep the trashtalking to a minimum since my team has a trend of sucking for nearly a decade now.

I had one childhood sports hero and that was Kenny "the Snake" Stabler. Brett Favre has just earned my respect over the years and quite ferankly, he is still a joy to watch.

I am done now. I feel better. I got that off my chest , because those mean comments were bothering me ALOT.

aye.. this is the way I see it, its like a band who searches for a singer, they never really find one, sure they have a few people who take the mic, but no one truly surfaces for years.. then one day, some guy strolls in hears what they've recorded, breaks out his notebook of lyrics and belts out all kind of tunes over their untitled tracks... whether or not he's the vocalist they've "envisioned" or not they recognize him as a true vocalist.

This is the way I see Favre..  A true QB.

Well Greg, if you're talking about JJ and I, you're seeing things.  You're definitely lashing out at the wrong people, and that's not cool.

That said, I agree, it's a blast to watch great QBs no matter what team they play for.

Montana/Jerry Rice will always be my fave!

Agree with everything said. Well OK, I don't like watching Romo or Brady play LOL but besides that yeah

And  Greg I may have bashed Favre but I usually keep it fair, and most of it has had to do with his lackluster production of late (except for 07 and 09 of course) And I also am quick to criticize ANY player for their "douchebag" faults. Including some of my all time favs like Tiki Barber and Plaxico. I dispense hate equally and fairly!

Now that's all that behind....
Vikings are a scary team. GREAT defense, beastly O-Line, AP now add Favre and Harvin.
Saints finally have a great run game to compliment their insane passing game, and now havea tough D to boot.

Giants have the potential, but the secondary HAS to heal up. They have the ability to cover any team, stop the run, and manage to bring pressure BUT everyone has to be clicking at 100% Also I have no idea what's up with their run game!? Cry

As for AFC I guess it's the usuals Colts and......

Win...my 2 fantasy backs are Michael Turner and Pierre Thomas, (on the 2 teams currently playing) so no matter the result I'm golden.

But really Im a fan of Pierre Thomas. Undrafted, made it on the team all the way up to a starter and he's such a beast. Gotta love it

It was nice to watch the Ravens play on Sunday, their defense looked like the Ravens D of old.Hopefully that trend will continue.I am not used to RB's rushing for over 100 yards against us and our secondary continously being burned.

You're not kidding. I'm not used to our secondary getting decimated like this.
Really makes you appreciate Ross, Webster and Phillips when you see what its like without them.
Team goes from covering the best offenses to getting destroyed. Can't blitz as much or effectively either.

Shows how much of a team sport football really is.

The Bucs have just taken the lead against the Packers.
Josh Freeman in his first start has played pretty considering that...
Oh, and he led a great drive where he threw a TD pass on a 4th down, then threw for the 2 point conversion.

Clap

What a game!!

Q:  Is Green Bay capable of making a big play and not ruining it with a penalty?

Is Aaron Rodgers the second coming of Daunte Culpepper?  (panics too soon and becomes a running back?)

Big smile

What a soft ball this Freeman throws...  This should be interesting the rest of the season.

Yeah, looks like you can add Rodgers to the slumping QB list.. Though I don't think he's on the Culpepper level. maybe just a spell of Delhomme-itis..

I still think all the flak Rodgers take is PARTIALLY uncalled for.
Not to beat a dead horse, but look at that O-Line he plays behind....
I'm sure he would hold the ball longer, and scramble frantically less if he could afford to...besides he's still a new QB guys. I think he's played damn fine.

But yes Freeman should be great to watch. Not going to say anything crazy after a game and a half...but he has the talent to be a great QB.

Can't beleieve the guy is where he is- When he played a game at Fresno State I thought he was terrible! Guess you can't judge a guy from 1 game....

Now THIS game was unacceptable. No shame in losing to the Saints, and with a banged up team I can understand the Cards and Eagles (especially with those explosive receivers)
But San Diego? Not only are they inconsistent but Rivers looks deep so much...and their offense is good but not as dangerous as the prior 3 IMHO

Shame is the Giants actually played like themselves for once. Ran the ball well enough, Eli was efficient and stepped up when needed! The defense also looked like themselves, and I though they were gunna win like the always do. By keeping the game tight and the 4th quarter stepping up big. Which they did. Everything looked perfect.......until Rivers and a defensive holding penalty (which was a good call)
over 100 yards in penalties!?

Talk about penalties,my Ravens lead the league in penalty yards. What a goddamn joke that Cincy game was,I was almost ashamed to call myself a Raven fan.Penalties are killing us,especially defensive pass interference.

Better than defensive holding....

Ah well G-men are done. Unless they heal up quick/get whipped into shape quick we're done. Even when we have games in the bag the D still let them march down the field unchallenged.

Glad the Steelers have proven in prime time the Broncos are over rated. Good D, I will give them that but their offense is mediocre. They've played well enough in that conservative no mistake but not no big gain offense, but Kyle Orton....nuff said.
Also, I have been a fan of Mendenhall since his college days and glad to see him beasting in the NFL. THAT is how the Steelers should run the ball!

The Denver O-line came out and played horrible in the second half. However, most of the blame really is on Orton's shoulders. Yes he was under pressure but the int he threw were not as a result of it.

I do think he was asked to pass in a close game too much though. Still you shouldn't be making mistakes like that in such short passing situations.

Once they were down in the game and needed quick scores you saw how crippled they were with a quarterback who can't throw more than 15 yards.

I don't believe Josh McDaniels has ever drawn up a play longer than 15 yards
