There wasn't an argument in that.  I actually think folks should be able to have firearms for self defense.  I just don't happen to believe that that was what the second amendment was about.  But if you give people the unfettered rights to guns, there are consequences.  Hell, even fettered rights to guns are no guarantee.  You have to be better armed and better at shooting than those who coming after you...
I agree with that.  I honestly think teachers and professors should be trained and armed (in some manner- not necessarily guns, maybe Tasers)...I wonder how far the VA Tech guy would have gotten if every professor in the school had the means and training to stop him.

as a long-time educator, I'm just picturing most of the teachers I've worked with over the years packing heat, it's just too damn funny.

Now that you mention it...LOL

The genie will never go back into the bottle.  If I were a betting man, I'd bet there's never going to be an end to these types of tragedies.

There is talk that at the Ft. Hood shootings that some of the victims may have been the result of friendly fire.  i.e. too many people with guns just started shooting and whoever got shot got shot.  Keep in mind this is just rumor, not anything confirmed.

Let's take Bonnie and Clyde as a case in point, they outgunned the police had fast cars, but ultimately they were gunned down severely.  Live by the sword, die by the sword eh?

Sure when these psychos go on a shooting spree, maybe if there had been good people armed they could have taken them out.  I find it more likely that it would just lead to more opportunities for mayhem.

Sometimes the nuts aren't always readily apparent.  But as long as we're all freely armed, nothing bad could ever come from that, could it?

Update 13 Dead 2 still in hospital in stable condition. Why was this nut allowed in the American military in the first place?
Here in Canada and Australia they try to get a certain percentage of visible minorities which I think is bullsh*t. Get men and women who can do the god damned job. This, among other things, was one of the reasons I left the air force.

Inconceivable.  LOL

A sick twisted mind such as mine has to wonder if they ever had unprotected fellatio and if she's also orally allergic to it.  Not that it has any relevance to trying to conceive.

An American couple are looking into other methods of having children after they discovered that she was allergic to his sperm – on their wedding night.

Mike and Julie Boyde of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, went out for two years after meeting at university and got married in 2005.

Before their wedding, the couple always used protection, but once they became as man and wife and had unprotected sex, things started to go wrong.

Not quite today's news, but former Split Enz (Xover Prog) founding member, Phil Judd admits stalking young girls in Australia. Not being flippant here, but you must have seen something like this coming given the eclectic stage personna he developed during the 70's and 80's.
