I'm off work with suspected Swine Flu

On Monday I felt as though I was coming down with the dreaded lurgy.
At work, we are encouraged to contact the NHS if you are showing at least 2 symptoms accompanying a high temperature...which I had.

I was given a code and told to either get someone to collect the Tami-Flu pills or, If I felt capable, collect them myself.Seeing as I had already 'dragged' myself into work and had to pass the collection point (chemist) I collected them myself...How embarrasing that was. When I proferred the collection code I was asked to stand outside of the chemist until an assistant brought the Tami-Flu to me.Needless to say, they had run out of bells and cards that say leper on them.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Swine flu in The Shed!

Don't worry, Lee - we've adapted one of the garden polytunnels for you to sleep in:

Seriously though, hope you get better soon; that Tamiflu is supposed to work well after a couple of days.

heers, Jim.

That Tami-Baker Flu stuff is very effective. After 24 hours I thought that I had poisoned myself but, now, for about 6 hours after taking it,I feel a bit of a fraud....until the tablets wear off...but yes [t (Tami-Flu) is very good indeed.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Jeez, I stroll back into the Gazebo after a few days in sunny rainy Derbyshire and walk straight into a contaminated area. Where was the warning? Has Lee been quarantined yet? We'll have to cordon him off with some netting or something.

Get well soon Lee.

In human terms my car has the "big C" ....and it's terminal.. Cry
its days are numbered, will not pass its MOT next year without a lot of money spending, many times its worth,  but at least i have time to save up for another car before this one is condemned to the knacker's yard, and takes its final resting place in the great parking bay in the sky...Ermm

phew.... what a week ! Ouch

Sad news Steve. Maybe you could go for the £2000 scrappage allowance.

If it's a Mk II Astra I'll happily let you have the bodywork (rustfree) for nothing - my head gasket's blown, gassing two policemen in a jam sandwich in the process. They pulled me over, and when they found out i was an old git who happened to be wearing a hoodie rather than a teenage tearaway and the car was legal they started to laugh at me and warned me I'd be nicked if I was caught driving it again 'cos it was unroadworthy. Like I didn't know that myself?

It's not worth repairing - my mum's already traded it in under the scrappage scheme and I'm "buying" the new car. What thanks do I get for this timely event and my generosity?

Mum's N-Reg Escort with more dents on the body than miles on the clockLOL
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

My Vauxhall Carlton is 20 years young this year - i did think of the scrappage scheme but not sure if they are continuing it, and you have to buy a brand new car..?  Confused

i could look at buying a new  Skoda or Trabant......then they'll owe me a few quid LOL

I've had some sort of lurgi for the last week or so.  Don't think its flu but feel fairly crap and have a cough which has settled on my chest and occasionally threatens to deposit my lungs on the table.  My fault for several weeks ago once again giving up smoking.

Bad luck on the jury service Lee.
When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

i've never done jury service - like in the film everybody would  say "let's just find him guilty then we can all go home", i would be the Henry Fonda character who says  "..now just hang on there a minute..."  LOL

I did it a few years ago,  the case was a young man accused of carrying drugs for someone. Unfortunately they never caught the other man involved and had no evidence whatsoever. We sat there for 2 days looking at photocopied "evidence" (such as copies of plane tickets) then the judge threw the case out due to lack of evidence and sent us all home.

Apparently my bank account's for sale too (Lloyds TSB Group) - I wonder if I'd get more if I sold it on eBay?
