Gwarf!  How hideous.  What were they thinking?

I have that album - Atomic Rooster's Nice n Greasy

That is rather offensive. I think that was the US version but the UK version was more tasteful. Yet I will post that version because it is still pretty awful

This is the version I changed the cover to using the images in the booklet - Its a real improvement too

I like that cover. Theres a lot worse.

This is a pretty bad cover - don't you think???

Let's not forget this nauseating mess (the cover's horrid also).

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!  It's a joke......right?
This is starting to get a bit depressing.

You would have to be a Yes fanboy to defend this indefensible awfulness.

Does anybody know what Wolf album is called? I don't know the band, or the album, or their names, so help would be appreciated. Also the cover rocks, I don't know why people hate it.

That actually is one of my favorite album covers of all time.

I agree with you about Tarkus though.

I'll go with Big Generator in prog.
But it's also fun to post other repulsive ones:
How offensive is this? An obese, Latino bum?

The Love Beach cover looks like a parody of something.  Maybe of itself.

The cover of Three Friends genuinely disturbs me. I would not want a physical copy of that inside my house.

I agree Condomonium and about every compilation album they ever released suck, but Operation is one of the best IMO.

Stongly dis-a-gree with you on this one.  I love this cover.  Tull have often used dramatic artistic impressions of Ian anderson on their covers (Aqualung for instance).  The 'Stormwatch' cover painting by David Jackson is beautifully realised and fits the music on the album very well.

There are far worse Tull covers than this.

this one genuinely disgusts me:

these aren't as bad but qualify:
frankly, any band that decides to put themselves on the cover in some silly pose.  if you want your album to look dated in only a few short years this is the way to go.

Other bad covers without visual evidence (they aren't worth the space):
Yes:
- Going for the One
- Tormato
- Big Generator
- Talk
- Open Your Eyes
King Crimson:
- Starless and Bible Black
- Heaven and Earth
Rush:
-Signals
ELP:
- Love Beach
- Trilogy I always found off-putting
Jethro Tull:
- War Child
- A
- and what the hell is going on here:

Time always wins.

Oh, I like the last one. It's not perfect, but this ram-headed god and the circle of fire are strong symboles.

Baroness's First EP had a rather icky cover:

Their second EP had a similar style, but wasn't quite as ugly:

Always thought The Perfect Element Pt. 1 was a dumb one too:

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic album, but I don't care for the artwork...

I am amazed at how many bad album covers are here that I have never heard of. I have to post this one though. Everytime I see it I cringe...

Yeah I believe that cover is notorious and was banned in many countries.
