Yeah, usually I don't desire to hear any sound after work, but I'm off work so I've actually been listening to an album or two every day. My top overall is 33 plays!
James, we're last.fm friends, you can always look at my charts there. |
Oh, okay. That's understandable.

Although you're probably going to see a lot of noise/dissonance after Thanksgiving. Pop music is just tiring, but Christmas music ignites the deep rage inside.

I know what you mean; I can't stand nearly all Christmas music. I couldn't imagine being around it often. Only Christmas music I ever listen to is Jethro Tull's Christmas Album or Mannheim Steamroller.

I am still loving the fact that I pissed off the whole pub with 30+ minutes of awesome jazz.
If I get an opportunity next time, I'll stick on some Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman. What's Eric Dolphy like, by the way?

Henry, I have 20 tabs open in Firefox already... last.fm would make that 21. I'd rather just look at your signature.

Excellent, but not as offensive as Albert Ayler or Free Jazz/Song X would be. I only have Out There, which is cello based, which is a bit tiresome since it seems like there were a lot of free jazz bands that randomly threw in a cello (Albert Ayler is particularly guilty of this), but it's still good.
Is my sig uncomfortable enough, or does it need something more?

Cool, 'cause he was listed either under Fusion or Avant-garde jazz on the Jukebox.
And I love the Mingus track more than I loved Blue Trane.

They have Free Jazz on there. My brother has my copy of Song X... grrr.
They also had some solo Metheny... but I'm not sure if I'd like that. They also had Romantic Warrior but I'd rather listen to Davis, Coltrane or Mingus.

That's understandable. Both Mingus and Coltrane are amazing, but I think you'd have a natural leaning towards Mingus more. I love them both, generally prefer Coltrane, but Blue Train is in his earlier stuff---which is still amazing but not as much as his later stuff.

Indeed, Blue Trane is from '57. I tend to prefer '60s experimental jazz more.
Alex needs to hear AMMMusic.
I also realised today how much some of Henry Cow's live output sounds like Faust.

I do need to hear AMMMusic; I also need to familiarize myself officially with Faust. So much to hear, but that's a good thing. I also tend to prefer 1960s jazz too, but it depends.

Crivens! 70 plays for Jean Louis.
That's too little.

AMM is a bit much.
I think I'm getting there, but I don't feel I've quite reached the point where the text is so creepy is causes a physical reaction (that also won't get me banned).

Teehee. Iancu Dumitrescu is what you need. Harryphonies is even too much for my ears! Also, Musica Transonic also didn't work for me.

I could get into Iancu a little more than AMM, but I didn't give either of them that much of a chance. Iancu is still somewhere in my harddrive, but I lost AMM when Ruckus collapsed, but I'll buy it eventually. I might get one of their other albums instead though, I might get on better with that one.

I wish I knew of jukeboxes that had some great genres like noise or free jazz, but then I'd be banned from whatever establishment owned the jukebox. Why would someone not want to hear Miles Davis? That is crazy.

What jukeboxes really need is RIO/Zeuhl/Krautrock...that would really blow the crowds away and get you kicked out in a millisecond.
