I gave Tarkus a listen today and I still can't "hear" it in any other way than a 20 minute compact song.

I'd go with Aquatarkus if somehow the "Welcome Back My Friends. . ." live version could be substituted. Since that's impossible, I went with "Bitches Crystal", since she knows how to twist all the lines. . .

As tarkus as a whole is my favorite song it is going to be really difficult to decide...so let me listen to it at least twice (it will be just fun...I can't get tired of it) and then I will vote

Whoah, wait, dude, what the crap? Why'd you split up "Tarkus?" It's, like, "Tarkus," man. That's about all there is to it.

Anyway, "Jeremy Bender" or "Bitches Crystal." Probably the latter.

What? "Are You Ready Eddie?" gets no votes? Psh. That song's very nice. Leave it alone. It has the best keyboard soloing ever.

And which was the song about the Jews? I kinda liked that one.

Stones of Years, chills just thinking about it.  And I want to say that Iconoclast will probably get no votes because it's really just sort of a bridge-track on the album, not a song per se.  But man does that thing rock my amadeus.Embarrassed  And side two?, honestly I find more and more that I can live without it.

Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"?

I would choose Tarkus as a whole, though I don't like all of the section, only some of them. My very favorite part is Battlefield.

I never knew all the different subdivisions of the song Tarkus, so I had to look them up, I picked Battlefield, but Stones of Years is a close second. Keith Emerson's solo over the Red Clay chord progression is like no other.

I voted for "Battlefield."  My second favorite would probably be "Infinite Space (Conclusion)."

Stones of Years for me but I guess it's the 'seamless whole' of the title track that made the album so ground breaking. Much of side two of the album is cruelly neglected I think, with the only filler track being the wretched Are You Ready Eddy ? (If only the answer had been - No ?)

For no particular reason I go with Bitches Crystal.
(Main Tarkus set, I've always just kind of thought of
as 1 song)
