Excellent article. Especially liked Focus' "Screw it, let's just yodel" section.
However, they seemed to put Rammstein in prog, but whatever.

I can't decide on a band name: The Destiny (of the) Totem or The Planet of the Project.

My favorite bit was the unique insight as to the interplay of the underlying metaphors of the three concept albums that were cited.

A bit simplistic: there was a band called The Ultimate Spinach, and no, they weren't prog.
Funny how the cover to Love Beach shows up over and over

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

At least one thing in the article is true, you can tell a prog fan if their ears perk up at the mention of a flute solo. I think they overstate the drug use, but for certain bands the amount of ego was spot on.

Hilarious. And they had to include Hocus Pocus by Focus, one of rock music's weirdest moments (and a great song to boot). More fool we.

Progressive rock is categorized by a sacking of traditional song
structure, complex rhythms, odd time signatures and a sense of inherent
superiority over other rock genres. |
Sounds like a pretty accurate description.

Haha, now that is funny sh*t right there !
Classic progressive rock is an era defined predominantly by its artists' pants. Conversely, modern progressive rock is characterised by a distinct lack of pants.
Thanks for the link Epignosis !

Fitting 40 prog songs on an IPod , that's like 3 Yes albums

I read the entire thing thinking "yeah, what's wrong with that?" at every point they made trying to poke fun at prog. I... I think there's something wrong with me.
