Dream Theater seem to be the big one here, interesting. I thought I was in the minority here.
Anyway, you can add Unexpect to my list. I just checked out In A Flesh Aquarium on the strength of the ratings on PA and boy did I learn my lesson. Noisy song-free nonsense.

This site has In A Flesh Aquarium ranked as nearly 2006's best album. They're certainly prog but popular? Perhaps not.

Rush- I can't stand Geddy's voice, and their guitar.
Yes- I had listened to most of their albums. Their music just does not work on me.
ELP- like Yes
Genesis- Peter Gabriel is great musician, though I am not a big fan of his music. After his era, boringgggggg!
Finally, there is a common reason I don't like Rush, Yes, and ELP: guitar! Their guitar sound makes me sleepy.

I don't like the sound of these three's guitar, it's just my preference, and my feeling of prog, just like you don't like DT (right?).
My favourite: PF, PT, Spock's Beard, Marillion, KC, Camel, Transatlantic, Pendragon,
Rock Progressivo Italiano , and Prog Metal.

Greg Lake, man. His guitar is boring ( for me). However, In the court of the Crimson King is the album that I have listened for over 20 times

There is so little guitar to get bored of. Thats why it seems so strange to me.

What is a real example of fake prog? I know bands have pretended to belong to certain movements for credibility and sales but I'm not really aware of people doing this with prog.

mmm... I must say I can't get into Pink Floyd... I guess the concept of PF is more interesting than the music itself... I could say I like more the covers of Floyd songs with other bands... but what album do you advice me to give them a second chance...??? then, I have to say I hate Radiohead music... Yorke voice is horrible... the same to Muse... I cannot take that voice along with the music... the rest is find with me... just a couple of albums of Blind Guardian that really makes me want to thow the cd player away by the window... jejeje...

Dream Theater, Opeth, Porcupine Tree and I guess Prog Metal as a whole, it's just not very pleasing to me for some reason.

I can't really seem to get into either Fates Warning or Voivod. They sound like progressive versions of Iron Maiden and Motörhead, respectively, both of whom I like and respect, but I've never really been able to really enjoy these two bands. Any suggestions song/albumwise?
