There were a couple of days last week when one euro was worth more than one pound, haven't checked it yet this morning, but I think it was Wednesday last week that would have made a liter of unleaded the equiv of £1.20 in France. Confused Shocked

That's a BIG shocker!

Damn; missed all the cakes and beer.  I've been to Norfolk to load City of Truro and bring it back to Gloucestershire.  Arrived at Norwich 22:00 last night and spent a night in the Premier Inn.  All I saw of Norwich was the A47 in the dark and the A140 this morning.Sleepy

Did you see Jared at all?

I guess you didn't.  I hope he's all right.  I miss his presence here.

Sounds like the opening line from a particularly boring BBC travelogue (probably fronted by Charlie Booring, untalented & bloody irritatingman)

Charley Boor(ing)man isn't nearly as boring as Russ Malkin the producer who accompanied him on the first By Any Means. I felt so nauseous everytime that he was on screen that I would paint a wall just to watch it dry....

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

Ever get the impression they were commissioned to do several series with the Boorman/McGregor partnership, then McGregor decided they'd exhausted any entertainment value in the first 2 series & bailed out? The producers are then left with several hours of TV to fill with the prime talent no longer in the frame...

"Oh well guys, have to be a couple of series with Charlie Boorman gurning like an imbecile, patronising the locals, being condescending to camera & getting his arse out occasionally..."

"Where is he anyway?"

"He's pulling a wheelie on his motorbike - AGAIN"

" head"

Charley Boorman...?

this Charley Boorman..?Shocked

"  Actor, father, motorbike fanatic: Charley Boorman is the epitome of the modern adventurer in pursuit of fresh challenges away from the success of his personal life. Choosing two wheels as his preferred mode of transport, Charley harnessed the challenges of a 'round the World trip with Ewan McGregor. Now his sights are set on the unyielding sands of the desert."

Actor?

Oh you mean "my dad's the director, so I get to dress like this"

Yes - that Charlie (my mate's a famous actor so I get to be on TV) Boorman.

Maybe a little harsh of me, he seems an amiable enough chap, but you know what I mean

Magma were magnificent as always - briefly met James and Melissa as well - now where are those fairy cakes?

I really am going to have to check out some Magma... they seem so popular, yet they've completely passed me by

They take some getting used to, I can tell you!

By the way, I'm predicting a surge of interest in West End theatre.

I was referring to the former...

I seem to remember Gemma Atkinson was in it as well. I wonder if the wife would like to see it?

At least it'll be Bet Lynch's bot we'll see, rather than Betty Turpin's hot-pot

"I saaaay...they must think we're bloody bonkers having that scraggy old queen down here"
