Sadly no. The vinyl shop I used to frequent, suddenly cut back on the amount of rock and prog vinyl it stocked. My last few visits were so fruitless, I've not gone back..
But it was a good shop while it lasted. I sniffed out numerous great albums there, Tulls 'A Passion Play' and 'Live at Carnegie Hall' by Renaissance..
All had a really good smell about them; reminiscent of old attics..

I go by what's on sale. REALLY!!! Because since buying new vinyl releases is more costly than CD's nowadays, I look for the specials. There's a couple of recently released Mobile Fidelity pressings I want but not at 40-60 bucks a pop.

I just found a great site for vinyls, and I mainly go by the cover there. At first I make a list of a few albums that seem interesting on PA, then listen to a few tracks on youtube, then put priorities by artwork, but if the music sucks then it's disqualified, and the top priority gets it, I guess.

There is some magical factor that atracts me to buy music, something that feels like an higher autority. I do know (about) the most vinyls I buy, but I do tend to look after and choose those with the great artwork. Sometimes I just can resist buying a record, Rockpommel's land by Grobschnitt and Cook by PFM are my latest unresistable additions.

I get you, but to me, it just features every thing on the list, and the more things on the list that are also on the vinyl, the better.
