I began Morrowind over a year ago and, like everything in my life, never finished it.
I sat down Saturday to play it, and couldn't remember anything I was supposed to do, even after looking at the journal. ![]() |

That's because it's a poorly developed game.
I always end up starting again, play it for a day and then give up again. |

The journal in Morrowind is/was terrible - Its semi-realistic (I guess) in that it posts events one after another, but it sucks that it doesn't assort them for each Quest... Last time I played, mine was at around 251 pages ![]() In Oblivion, it at least sorts them, but Oblivion is more of a cheap re-hash than Morrowind... |

Poorly developed? Nah... It has its flaws, sure, but I wouldn't go that far. I love how expansive the world is and freely one can roam it, and how character development takes place in the game (not strictly by leveling- you have to join factions and complete missions accordingly). There's so much to do! But I will say that when the Game of the Year edition came out and I bought it years ago, I was so fed up with the combat system and other aspects that I wound up selling it. Then last year, for whatever reason, I felt I hadn't given the game a fair shot, so I bought it again for cheap, and I'm very pleased with it. It's just a long ass game (for someone who likes to do as much as possible). |

I disagree.
Although joining factions is probably the most interesting aspect of the game, it's just not executed correctly. I find after I joined one guild, I seem to have joined them all, 'cause they're all much of a muchness (although the thieves/assassins at least allow you to kill people other that monsters). The world is more interesting than Oblivion and Vivec looks gorgeous too. But I got bored before I even really entered Vivec. Plus the combat system sucks, It's better than Oblivion though. |

DnD-based RPG systems = pleasure
Playing Icewind Dale 2 now, on a not-so-regular basis. |

See, and there's the thing- I never finish RPGs. I've begun Baldur's Gate 20 times and never finished. Something always comes up and takes my attention away from it for a long period of time and I never return to it. I've only got the last "boss" to beat on Neverwinter Nights...and it's been that way for two years! |

I rarely finish RPG games myself. I'm too obsessed about making strange character-builds, the "perfect" party etc., etc.

Robert, have you got Nil Recurring by Porcupine Tree?
I've started writing a review for it, and I'd have to say, I think its much better and more consistent than FoaBP. |

I do, but I refused to pay the asking price of $17.99 (ridiculous for an EP) I forget what I paid for it. I rated it a four, if I'm not mistaken. I love the relationship between "Normal" and "Sentimental." |

I've not finished many RPGs either. I did complete Baldur's Gate when I was at University though (but not the expansion) and I have played through Diablo 2 once as well.
Oh and I have completed the original Neverwinter Nights but not the expansions. But usually I also get sidetracked. I was playing Arcanum a few months back and stopped playing it... not because it's not a good game, it is in fact excellent. I just got sidetracked. |
