On Saturday, I bought my first two Dream Theater albums, Octavarium and SFAM (in that order). If you know the story behind Octavarium, you'll know of the connections with the numbers 5 and 8 scattered throughout the artwork and all. In another remarkable coincidence, Octavarium is my 35th album. 3 + 5 = 8!

I have a system of numbering and dating my albums (I write the number and date on one of the inlay pages, usually one with a white background), and if I buy 2 albums in the same shop at the same time, I go by the order they appear on the receipt. Octavarium appeared first on the reciept when I got back, thus making it No. 35. Weird!

I know it doesn't really mean anything. But then, does anything really mean anything?

Good opportunity, though, to ask your opinions on this marvellous album.

I posted my review of Foxtrot on Sept. 8th (9/8 in US), it was my 98th symphonic review, and it was the 666th rating of the album here.  Do you know what this all means?!  Shocked

I'm a Victoria.  I happened to be thoughtfully smiling when I read about Victoria, thoughtfully smiling.

It means that you have a secret fetish for Supper's Ready.

9/8 means that it is mentioning Apocalypse in 9/8 while 666 is part of the lyrics in Apocalypse:
"666 is no longer alone,
He's getting out the marrow in your back bone,
And the seven trumpets blowing sweet rock and roll,
Gonna blow right down inside your soul."

"Hello Victoria, so glad to see you, my friend" Wink

How does it feel to be represented on a DT album?

The strange thing is that if you rotate 8 by 90 ( =3 x 5 x 3 x 2) degrees, you get infinity (∞). Shocked

Dream Theater, a prog metal band. The signature 'Victoria watches...' comes from Home, and 'Hello Victoria...' comes from Regression, both from the Scenes from a Memory album.

I just noticed that if you look at Leonardo's The Last Supper very closely, you can see a detail from the cover of Metropolis Part 2 right between Bartholomew's legs! Shocked
