I was going to suggest Comus, I absolutely love First Utterance. That album should at least be in the top twenty. I think I shall listen to it right now.
Recommending First Utterance to someone with tastes like FBG sounds like a baaaaad idea.
Wot!?!
She likes Jethro Tull. All the Tull fan I know like First Utterances.
All right, so maybe she'd need something in between Tull and Comus to ease her in, which is why I suggested Spirogyra.
Comus is way too weird, is what I think he means.
But it's DELICIOUSLY weird.
I must listen to too much prog, I didn't even think about Comus being weird. But now that I think about it, they do have a rougher sound than Tull.
Another band I discovered recently was Gnidrolog. They sound folky too, btw.
The weirdest thing, I was thinking of starting a prog folk thread earlier.

Gnidrolog isn't doing much for me, but thanks for posting it, A Person. I'd heard the name and had been planning on checking them out.
Ougenweide is cool, if you like medieval folk, and don't mind German lyrics:
And Rob, well, sorry about the job. But I guess if you're satisfied with your work at the end of the day and your family is happy, the paycheck is not too too much of an issue.
Personally, June, love Gnidrolog's debut... think Lady Lake took out the quirkiness.

That's why I need to go through and 1 or 2-star every VdGG album. I don't see how I couldn't get any hate mail for that.

So what would you recommend someone who doesn't like synthesizer, likes
interesting arrangements with kinda catchy melodies, and LOVES acoustic
guitar?
Doesn't like synthesiser: classical music , interesting arrangements with catchy melodies 10cc... The Original Soundtrack, Deceptive Bends and Sheet Music are probably among their best. Occasionally they do basically do horrible songs for the sake of pure irony... reckon Sheet Music is probably the easiest starting point... oh, and Caravan's For Girls Who Grow Plump In The Night, which is catchy, just about synth-free and has a viola (plus one of my favourite bassists ever).
Acoustic guitar... erm... Hackett's latest couple have some very classical acoustics, Simon And Garfunkel are the best, and if you like various acoustic folk instruments, The Strawbs' From The Witchwood is just about perfect.

Our little By-Tor is just growing up way too fast. Seriously, your comment is so true. Like it or not, in the "business world" long hair on men is generally frowned upon. There will always be exceptions, but I guarantee you that it is almost always going to be seen as a negative on 1st impressions. Unless of course, you are doing business with a heavy metal band or a biker gang.

Isn't that TV series a "steady" job?
For the next 5 weeks, then (like every TV series) they go on a 1 week hiatus and I find a new show. Some of the crew will stick through the series (assuming they don't get fired in that time), but I'm doomed to drift as soon as the hiatus kicks in.

Scott, I see you just got One of Several Possible Musiks.
What do you think?
1st impression was that it wasn't what I expected. It was entirely instrumental and I was expecting vocals, most likely in a Christian vein. That being said I thought that it was good. I'll need more listens to formulate a better opinion.
