Any chance of a definition of what constitutes a 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team'?

I am an Admin whose duties involve site adminsitration and forum moderating.

I am also a member of the Crossover Prog Team involved in assessing an evaluating bands to be admitted to the Crossover Prog subgenre - a subgenre that is part of the old Art Rock definition concerned with the Prog bands that crossed-over into the Mainstream (or vice versa).

When doing neither of those tasks I partake in general forum debates on Prog and Non prog issues and make random postings in the Just For Fun sections of the forum.
What?

I think you have to understand the "slash" between the two different ranks, Big Ears. Wink

OK, so who moderates the quality of the writing from the moderators? By quality I mean, grammar and sentence structure; which leads to economical, concise and clear writing. None of us are perfect, but if we moderate others, we should be able to express ourselves clearly.

Is that what you think the Admins do here or are supposed to do? Correct people's grammar?

Okay - I'm really sorry you have an issue with my sentence structures - I know it is a problem for me and has been for over 40 years- you are roughly my age so you will understand when I tell you I got grade-9 on my GCE "O" level English, not proud of that, but sod all I can do about it now. I'm one of the few people who can précis a book and end up with a longer missive than the original text. I have never been able to master the art of concise explanations. The more complex the subject I'm trying to get over, the more complex my grammar becomes, and the longer the sentences will run for. I apologise for that. I admire people who can say things in simple terms - it's a skill I don't posses, never have and never will.

I could say what I think of all this in very simple terms, but I shan't.  Tongue

Same as my father told me: "I admire every person who can play a musical instrument.",

I'll say: "I admire those who can use this language and has big word dictionary in their minds. And the longer text is, the better. Well, best would be to structure your thoughts into two different paragraphs, short explanation and long one :-D."

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

You did not read my post before sniping, as I asked a reasonable question and did not make a criticism.

Not at all. But, if a moderator responds negatively to a posting, they should make themselves clear. They should not dress-up an attack in woolly language, otherwise it is done for its own sake. Another way of describing this would be as sniping.

It is nice to know you are not making any criticisms, since I am the only person here who bears the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', and posts in long unstructured sentences it could be misconstrued as a snipe at me without that added clarification. Also, being as I am the only person here who bears the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', and who posts in long unstructured sentences, it would be nice, if not polite, for you to at least acknowledge my posts in this thread that you have created specifically to question persons who bear the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', who post in long unstructured sentences.

Anyway, thank you for the non-criticism of my posting style, I will endeavour to post in a terser more concise manner, but I fear it will take some time.

I am truely sorry you saw my post in the Classical thread in that way - it was in no way intended as a snipe or an attack on you, just a continuation of the discussions regarding influence. All I can do is appologise.
