If  the human race gets into Human Cloning,just think we could have a replica of our favourite long gone artist. Who would be your first choice. This really broke down to my top two artists: Johnny Cash vs. Frank Zappa
While I love both I enjoyed what Johnny was doing towards the end of his life moreso than what Frank was up to but, I would dearly love to hear Frank's take on modern music
 
There are truely a few names here that I'd hate to see come back but I'll be polite and not name names LOL
 
Why no Beethoven?  I see Mozart up there but where's Beethoven?  I'd bring him back before Amadeus.

This is a really tough decision. There are loads of artist that I wish could still be alive, but I also think there are some who fulfilled their calling (like Jimi Hendrix for example) and changed the way we view things forever. I guess I would choose someone who we lost tragically at the pinnacle of their career or was taken away from us too soon.

Considering that, I think I'm going with the 27 club. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. I'll add John Lennon too, because I wonder what he'd be doing musically today.

That reminds me of the short story "The Monkey's Paw". I also would have Lennon back from that list, but I would be more interested in Syd Barrett.

probably mozart. he died so young for his talent and near the end of his life he was writing his best material (early stuff is a little too fru fru classical for me a la hadyn) but didnt have time to finish some of it.

also hendrix for the above reasons already posted. he wasnt done with his "journey" if you will.
