I guess it depends on which one you hear first.  You heard Fear Draws Misfortune first, so it probably will hold more importance to you than Jean Louis, which I heard first.

Also, I wish I'd heard Polar Bear's self-titled last year, 'cause it would have been my non-prog album of the year.

That bias could exist, I suppose.  The two albums are so completely different, so it's a tough comparison.

I'm about to spin mirthKon now, need to give that more listens in order to give it it's proper place in the "list".

Cleo and David both thought it was awesome too.

They couldn't pick a worse name, though. With all the Jean Louis in the world, google doesn't highlight them at all. You have to write 'Jean Louis Tranche (001)' to get to the Wayside purchase page.

Say, why don't we make a wikipedia page for them?

They're on a Wayside sampler that comes with every order.  So one of us would have heard at some point.
