God Cliff Lee has been such a sick acquisition. He blew me away tonight:

CG  0 ER   1 R   5 H   0 BB   11K

and he had 2 hits at the plate to boot.

Yeah, I just finished watching that.  Such an efficient performance, and on offense they were smacking it around pretty good.  Hoping for a strong finish next month and we'll see what happens come playoff time.

Well of course! Why bother to keep the team together and hope for more wins when you can trade any good players away!

They're way ahead of you on that front.

The Buccos swept the BrewCrew. Rumor has it that they are printing playoff tickets as we speak.

I bet they did that months ago.  I just heard today that they're already building a trophy case for when they win the Series!

Four in a row now. If they sweep the Reds they will be knocking on the Astros doorstep. *gasp*

Five in a row now and a 1/2 up on the Reds. A sweep today would be nice. Clawing their way into the playoffs. LOL

Well it was nice while it lasted. I guess they used up all their mojo yesterday. 5 in a row is nice for the team that they've got.

Smoltz had 9K in 5 innings for his debut with the Cards. I guess the NL is good for him.

It was only against the Padres. Obviously he's in a much easier environment overall, but that is a bottom feeding team from it.

Another strange Phillies game. I'd appreciate some normality. Good to see Howard smack too though.

The Cards are so happy with the outcome though. Lohse went down and he came through for them. It is the talk of St. Louis sports talk radio.

I went to bed last night with the Tigers leading 10 to 0 over the Angels in the 6th inning.  I figured that I didn't want to be up if they ended up losing that game.  Final score was 10 to 7.  Good thing that I didn't stay up for it.  I'd probably have to replace my TV after throwing something through it.

Good thing you don't have Brad Lidge v.2009 or you would have woke up to a 10-13 score.

Blown save is bad enough, but after an improbable 9th inning comeback it's even worse.

LOL

been there many a time.... this season of Ok St. football will probably finally see the death of my TV.  First great team we've had since Barry Sanders was on campus.

Last night was better.  I went to bed after the Tigers fell behind 3 - 0 and woke up to find that they won 5 - 3.  I would have liked to have seen that game but these West Coast trips are just to rough on the schedule during the work week.
