Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"? |

Definitely don't miss those! Their debut is worth 4 or 5 stars, and really is excellent. Here's what my list would look like (of those same albums): 1. Close to the Edge 2. The Yes Album 3. Going for the One 4. TFTO 5. Relayer 6. Fragile 7. Tormato |

1. The Yes Album 2. Fragile 3. Close to the Edge 4. TFTopographicOceans 5. Relayer 6. Going for the One 7. Tormato I have to admit tho I dont have all of 'Tormato' but it did not sound as good as others from the stuff I have on the 5 CD boxset.

Hmmmm.....
1. CttE 2. Relayer 3. The Yes Album 4. TfTO 5. Tormato 6. Fragile 7. GFTO Thats my take on it. I have no idea how any of you could put Tormato at the bottom of the list... A fine album, easily one of the best played. -Joel |

I actually don't dislike Tormato as much as many Yes fans seem to. Future Times/Rejoice is especially fond to me. But I still can't realistically rate it above any of the other albums. Sometimes I think I like it better than GftO, then Awaken reasserts itself, or Turn of the Century.

I think Tormato is one of their best, believe it or not... For me, its only great when I put it in context with my love for prog... It was one of my first ever Prog albums and one of my first YES albums (Along with Magnification and Relayer). I can't really think of anything that makes it a bad album, to be honest. -Joel |

No, I agree Joel. It is a far better album than many make it out to be, and I will always have a soft spot for Circus of Heaven. A marvellous concept and so bittersweet when Damien expresses his dosappoitment at the end. |

Yesterdays I think this is a really fine collection, delivered at the right time. Great to catch a nice whiff of Bruford, his witty logic. I love every song on this. |

Certainly worth it if it is cheaper for you buying this that the first two albums separately, and I also far prefer the Yes version of America to that of Mr Emerson & pals |

If it's more expensive to buy the first two, than go with Yesterdays, but their debut album is INCREDIBLE late 60's psych/hard rock. Time And A Word isn't quite as good, but is still worth a look. Actually, just get both of them. After getting Yesterdays, I would bet money that you will get the first albums anyway. |

Didn't end up getting Yesterdays, but instead, I bought...
- The mini LP gatefold, 2007 remaster of Close To The Edge (A gift back to my dad for the Marillion DVD's ) - A copy of the YesSongs DVD (He still never bought the CD, so I thought this might be a good place to start) He loves them both -Joel |

^^ Nice job
My dad's birthday was earlier this month, so it gave me an excuse to buy some great prog as well. I got him Dream Theater's Black Clouds & Silver Linings along with a remastered edition of Tales From Topographic Oceans. Seriously, it is great having a family member into prog. It gives you many excuses for spending money you don't have |

Hehe, yep... Thats what about 95% of presents for my Dad are... (Speaking of which, Father's Day in Australia soon... Need something big this year ... Last year, I got him Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream, which in turn made me love them...) I'm thinking A YES T-shirt from their site, but the only difficulty with that is having to wait every day to grab it and hide it when it arrives |

For Father's Day last year I got my dad a Dream Theater shirt (in case you can't tell, he likes DT), and I got him two Yes albums remastered which I don't recall. I do know that most of his remastered CD Yes collection is on my behalf, however.

Good work... I'm thinking of a remaster of Selling England By The Pound... We've only got an original on CD, so that might work out well -Joel |

I'm working on getting as many early Genesis remasters as I can. Most of the originals have just plain awful quality.
