The Wayside Sampler #6 which came with my order included songs from bands like Rational Diet, Cheer Accident, Univers Zero, Gutbucket, Led Bib, and Jean Louis. A regular who's who of the Shred Room these days. Many of the songs were just excerpts. It was pretty decent.

And their debut as well..

Absolute highest quality chamber prog. I love this one as much as anything from UZ, etc. Also, please to check ZART thread, I have a question for you there.

Can't wait to make the 2009 top, in December.
Prediction:
1. Porcupine Tree - The Incident 2. Epignosis - Still The Waters 3. The Decemberists - The Hazards Of Love 4. Maudlin Of The Wall - Part The Second 5. Simon Railton - Here It Is

Simon Railton will only make it there if Itsy chooses that as his next Decemberists/Animal Collective band, which will then spread like a wild fire throughout the forum.

David Byrne and Brian Eno released a new album however. (I think that it is 2009, but it could be 2008). Edit: Guess not, it was 2007.

2008 Not very bright, if you ask me. My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts is, in contrast, a classic.

Yep. But we do have the same number two so that's something.

I'm pretty sure that your number 3 Simon Says' Tardigrade was in my top 5. I haven't heard the rest of your top 5 however. The Tangent and Edensong were both in my Top 10 too.

I listened to Shakti with John McLaughlin for the first time last night, and I was left underwhelmed. Another one of those 30+ year old albums that was probably awesome at its time, but since I have no previous connection to it, it is just meh.

Well, I am 30 years younger than you, and the self-titled debut was so good, it left me passed out on the floor.
