I'm really mad at Marvel comics and I would have liked to know which character is your favourite and explain why.Mine is Wolverine since he never gives up and has always to fight against himself. So what's your choice?

I love Magneto- such a complex character and a great contrast to Xavier's ideology.

I used to love Marvel comics, and my 8 year old son is becoming interested now, so this will be a chance to reignite a long lost passion.
From this list, The Thing, because of the way he overcame huge emotional adversity.

The word may seem strong but it's because these stories and characters enabled me to go far away from stupid guys when I was 12/13(they still do).I really wasn't the cool guy(too shy I suppose). Moreover I'm now looking for comics I used to buy at this time of my life(in France it was Nova,Strange,Special Strange,Titan.....)and it's always a great fun to look at Kirby/Romita/Buscema/Byrne's............works!I must admit Iron Man essential is a bit dated but I still dig it(Stan Lee/Don Heck made marvels, normal isn't it?).Thanks for all the answers.

Huge Marvel fan here and Spidey will always be my favorite.Loved the early stuff,he was a nerdy teenager that had real problems like we all did when we were in high school.Even though I wasn't picked on as a kid I really identified with Peter Parker.

I haven't read much Marvel since I was a youngster, but at that time my favourite was always:
The Mighty Thor

My mother is actually much more into the Marvel superheros than I so I voted for her favorite Wolverine but my favorite would be Cable, who somehow isn't listed.

Much more of a DC fan... I'm a Batman and Joker man...
Out of Marvel, I prefer Magneto and, of the good guys, Spider man.

I also would like to add that I really like Dr Doom:he's one of the most interesting Marvel characters since he's pitiless and dangerous but at the same time full of humanity, moreover such a brilliant mind who could do wonders for mankind. He also suffered from persecution and all this suffering built him. Here is my top five of Marvel characters
1 Wolverine
2Dr Doom
3 Storm
4 Iron Man
5 The Green Goblin

I voted for spidey, but I think that my favourite character of all time was Dethlock the Demolisher - a kind of forerunner to Robocop but more intelligently presented.

Yes!It's not my favourite but I like it and I think he looks a little like Eddie the Head in Somewhere in time artwork.
