Does anyone know what type of keyboards play the main theme(the one that starts at 0:10) of Siberian Khatru?

I always just assumed it was mellotron strings, but now i listen to it, not only does it not really sound like that, but it sounds like a few different keyboards layered.

(I am trying to make a backing track to play guitar over, I do actually have the music for it but the entire keyboard part is notated on one organ, so if anyone knows which notes each keyboard is playing that would also help)

Hmm, not sure. It always sounded like mellotron to me as well.

I'm pretty sure its at least two types of keyboard, perhaps mellotron and moog

you can actually hear what i mean better when it comes back in 6:18 and 7:33

I'm sure whatever it is could easily be implemented into any modern Keyboard; it's just a matter of finding it, lol.

I'm not a Keyboardist, myself, but I know a couple guys who are, so if you don't find any answers by the end of the day, I'll direct them to this thread if you wish.

The sound you are searching about is definitely mellotron brass from the M400. The background is classic "3 violons"  but the main melody is brass.

Yes, it's mellotron brass sound for the M400, different to the one used on mellotron Mark II, like on
King Crimson "Circus" for example.

You can check link detailing the use of mellotrons on Yes albums.
