Stages of Being a Member on PA

1. Initiate (1 day -1 week)

    -- 1-5 posts per day
    -- less than 30 minutes on PA per day
    -- naive enthusiasm for progressive rock (but only Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree)
    -- likes 7/8 time A LOT.
    -- makes "new" threads on "exciting topics" ("Most interesting color used on the cover of Dream Theater's new album (they have a new album by the way what do you think of that, lol?")
    -- Weapon of Choice: Poor grammar

2. Acolyte (1 week -1 month)

    -- 5-10 posts per day
    -- 1 hour on PA per day
    -- discovers other genres of prog ("Kobaia Iss de Hundin, lol!!!") *
    -- * (Note: the above does not apply to Indo-prog. No one ever discovers Indo-prog)
    -- Weapon of Choice: Discs of Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh

3. Villager (1 month-6 months)

    -- 5-20 posts per day
    -- 1-5 hours on PA per day (work computer permitting)
    -- Mocks new members ("lol, Genesis. Here's some real music...Univers Zero!") (Note: applies to a****les only)
    -- Weapon of Choice: Decent taste in music

4. Velveteer (Note: Master-level side quest) (1 month - indefinite [unemployment permitting])

    -- 100-250 posts per day
    -- 5+ hours on PA per day (not at work--unemployed)
    -- Spams cat macros.
    -- Derails threads that never had a topic anyway
    -- Posts pictures >4000 x 4000 pixels to nuke threads
    -- Butt of every joke (not including Dream Theater)
    -- Weapon of Choice: "Post Reply"

5. Tribal Elder (6 months - indefinite)

    -- 10-20 posts per day
    -- 1-3 hours on PA per day
    -- Granted access into inner sanctum (Collab Zone)
    -- Engages in serious business only
    -- Debates genres endlessly (re: serious business)
    -- Weapon of Choice: Intimidation, Seniority

6. Exile (1 year - 1.5 years)

    -- 0-1 posts per day
    -- 5 minutes on PA per day
    -- Gets fed up with Dream Theater topics and leave, only to post in Prog Gigs and Prog News
    -- Shows up every once in awhile to tell people how stupid they are for rehashing old arguments
    -- Only 5% chance of being missed by anyone
  
7. Seasoned Member (1.5 years - indefinite)

    -- 5-10 posts per day
    -- 1 hour on PA per day
    -- Nice all-around member of the community
    -- Helpful to new members
    -- Is boring
    -- Weapon of Choice: Helpful recommendations

8. Mentally Unstable (Note: Inevitable final stage) (indefinite- indefinite)

    -- ? posts per day
    -- ? hours on PA per day
    -- After years of exposure to endless thread rehashes and endless hordes of Dream Theater fans, this elite member is burnt out and numb to
        all convential discussion and only responds to the surreal music discussions with unpredictable, flailing insanity.
    -- Trollish attitude
    -- Weapon of choice: Internet memes, Black humor.

I'm sort of a 3, 5, and 8... lulz.

I guess I'm a Villager, even I like both Genesis and Univers Zéro.
But I think I will turn to the Mentally Unstable in a few weeks months.

Well, that is pretty much EXACTLY the path I followed.

Srsly.

Although I had no step 7. After my return, (which I wasn't expecting anyone to miss me) I went straight to being unstable and having a trollish attitude, oh and posting memes.
