Ah yes, good ol Rick Perry and his talk of succession.
He was also such a silly goose. I present Keith Olbermann, in all his liberal, hatred goodness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If1Ab9zvXPo&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fencyclopediadramatica.com%2FKeith_olbermann&feature=player_embedded But really, if Texas decided to succeed, I'd say "Bon Voyage" Seriously, what will we be losing??? Well we'd probably have to build a fence around it. ![]() Edited by Slartibartfast - July 29 2009 at 20:44 |

Hey now Molly Ivins may be gone but we still have Jim Hightower.
http://womenshistory.about.com/od/quotes/a/molly_ivins.htm • from her last column, January 11, 2007: We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. Raise hell. Think of something to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. Make our troops know we're for them and trying to get them out of there. • In Texas, we do not hold high expectations for the [governor's] office; it's mostly been occupied by crooks, dorks and the comatose. http://www.jimhightower.com/ "Some of these CEOs are getting so rich they could afford to air condition hell." -- Jim Hightower REAL COMPETITION CAN STOP HEALTH INSURANCE GOUGING![]() Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama is all for Congressional efforts to produce health care reform – as long as they don't contain any actual reform. The senator gets fainting spells at... Something ugly you may not have heard about:
Cold-blooded details of Brooklyn Marine and wife's brutal murder revealed in California courtroomBY Nancy Dillon In Murrieta, Calif. and Corky Siemaszko In New York
![]() Brooklyn raised Marine Sgt. Pawel Pietrzak and his wife Quiana. ![]() Henryka Pietrzak-Varga, mother of murdered Marine Sgt. Jan Pietrzak. Terrorized and tortured, allegedly by four fellow Marines, Sgt. Jan Pawel Pietrzak and his wife were on their knees in their ransacked home when one intruder handed a loaded gun to another. "Do them," Lance Cpl. Tyrone Miller told Pvt. Emrys John, a former Marine testified Wednesday. "They had them kneel over the couch and they placed a seat cushion over his head and shot him," 22-year-old Justin Weissinger told the court. "They shot his wife, too. They shot her in the same manner, twice." Weissinger, who was kicked out of the service in February for flunking a drug test, said Miller gave him that account and even boasted about how they sexually assaulted Pietrzak's wife, Quiana. That was too much for her mother, Faye Williams-Jenkins, who fled the California courtroom in tears. Pietrzak's mother, Henryka, who had flown in from Brooklyn for the hearing, said with disgust, "Our servicemen and women deserve to be safe and not afraid of each other." Weissinger, who said he and Miller carried out 20 burglaries together and once accidentally shot the accused ringleader, testified at a hearing to determine whether the Marines should stand trial for the double murder. John and Miller are based at Camp Pendleton and worked for Pietrzak, who was a helicopter airframe mechanic at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego. Miller said "that they had some conflicts in the past and he didn't really like him that much," Weissinger testified. So when Miller rang Pietrzak's doorbell last October, the suspicious sergeant armed himself with a kitchen knife, Weissinger said. They "put a shotgun to his chest and told him to go in the house," the former Marine said. Miller, John and the other Marines, Pvt. Kesuan (Psycho) Sykes and Pvt. Kevin Cox, have pleaded not guilty. They face the death penalty if convicted. John is 19 and the others are 21. Prosecutors insist the Pietrzaks were slain for their money, but a homicide investigator has said the Marines spray-painted racist remarks in the home. Polish-born Pietrzak, 24, was white. His 26-year-old wife was black. In the wake of the Pietrzak murders, Rep. Michael McMahon (D-Staten Island) drafted a bill to stiffen psychological screenings for new Marines to weed out the bad apples. Edited by Slartibartfast - July 30 2009 at 15:30 |

That Nugent site reminds of Michael Savage's website. Seems there is no originality or ideas to be had. |

Not really news, but I would like to present the New Yorker missing the freaking point.
Also, I never thought that Mayella's father raped her, but reading comments on Metafilter and in the article that seems to be the assumed conclusion. I always thought she didn't have any sex at all that day, her father just made her file for rape because he saw her kissing Tom.
