Fans of avant might want to check this out:
The
Late Bronze Age in full flower, at the peak of their creativity and
popularity. Of course, in typical Bruce style, the band broke up
shortly after this was released in 1982. "Sea Cow" rocks ferociously,
and "Walking with Zambi" is one of the most fun songs in the entire
Hampton discography. "Feel the black tie splendor" indeed! This release
is worth having just for the original studio version of "Time Is Free,"
which later appeared on the first Aquarium Rescue Unit album. There are
two bonus tracks, including the wonderful "Jack the Rabbit," one of
Bruce’s most straight-ahead rockers.

Reluctantly, I'm going to give it another try. Satellite seems to bore me to tears these days.

I think as soon as this is done, I'm going to put my Satellite discs up on Amazon and wash my hands of this band. Insurance seminars are more exciting than this. E

Soapbox: And I don't want to ever hear what an over-indulgent drummer Portnoy is. Doesn't even come close to Satellite's Wojtek Szadkowski. Remember in the movie Stripes when the rag tag platoon are out running the obstacle course on day one, and the humongous Ox (John Candy) comes off that one obstacle and can't stop in time and ends up running out of control down that ravine? He's trying to stop himself by grabbing any hanging tree branch or twig, but it's like trying to stop a speeding semi with surgical gauze and he's just way off course and out of control. That's how I feel about this guy's drum fills. they're just all over the place.
Gugh!!! CD is over...thank God.

One of Porcupine Tree's more earlier works, On the Sunday of Life. So far, it has sounded incredibly awesome.

Listening to some Floyd BBC recordings. Just finished up a 15-minute Fat Old Sun, which has to be one of the finest Wright performances I've ever heard...he just rocks it on this version. Now, a slightly expanded version of One of These Days, and then a long Embryo.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

just got the 2008 remastered stereo mix of Selling England, sounds superb, though I could do without the urine-green coloration of the cover
