I have that soft spot for the Peter Cetera led Chicago albums that you don't like, and thus I also like his solo work.  As much as I am in to Progressive rock, I am still trapped in a pop fan's mind.

James, you need the new Led Bib.

And that's all there is to it.

I think I also need old Led Bid.

As to your earlier conversation, re: people who don't explore other avenues of "prog", well I actually find Univers Zéro very accessible.

If you like chamber music, surely Univers Zéro isn't much of a stretch?

I find most Canterbury very accessible.

I see no reason why fans of Genesis et. al.  can't easily digest something like Hatfield and the North's records.

You didn't read at all what I said. I said raised on our culture's pop music scene. That wouldn't mean you sit at home all day listening to chamber music. LOL

That's not the average person.

But I'm referring to people who post on P.A. who already listen to less accessible music.

They all think avant-garde means dissonant, noisy, tuneless and a lot more.

I suggested him to the jazz-rock/fusion team, but I am wondering if maybe he is more avant.

Will do.

No, I'm a lost cause.

This is because I'm listening to Pure Reason Revolution and actually enjoying it. I shouldn't like this kind of music. ErmmLOL

I really like The Dark Third, so there you go.  I haven't heard the new one yet.

The new one is the polar oppposite of the debut. While the debut was psychedelic prog-ish with bits of electronica, their sophomore effort is mostly electronica with touches of psychedelic.

I guess I like it as much as I do because I just like electronic music, and it's the first electronica I've heard other than Radiohead that isn't about the same boring, repetitive beat for 3 minutes.

Although the fantastic vocal harmonies are still present. Big smile
