Some New Metal, Some new Wave and a lot of prog metal. But i am not embarrassed by that. Can't listen to pure prog all the time!
Music is the refuge of souls ulcerated by happiness.

Because if my collector friends knew that I listened to this they would have a lot of fun at my expense. That's just how they are, very competetive and ruthless.

Actually, my musical friends are not that nice. In some ways they are like a couple of the posters on this site, they have a "my way or the highway" attitude. But it does make for some interesting, although heated, discussions.

I like lots of new wave 80s too! Especially Gary Numan, Human League, Visage and Ultravox. Pretty darn good music esp the album tracks. The singles are admittedly very corny or cheesy.

But listen to the darkness of:
Ultravox - Mr X, Rage In Eden, .
Gary Numan - Replicas, My Breathing, Walking in Shadows
Human League - Darkness, Things that dreams are Made of, Get Carter, I am The Law
Visage - Tar, Moon Over Moscow, Visa-Age, The Steps - chilling stuff

Well, It starts with my sig, which reveals the somewhat embarassing fact that my #1 artist by playcounts is Shakira. However, if you click on it and go to my profile, it just gets worse. Rounding out 16th and 17th place are Madonna and Alizeé, both with over 100 plays. In 27th place, with 86 plays, is Britney Spears. I love it all, but it is sure embarassing and difficult to explain myself.

Nothing wrong with that my Antipodean friend - Oasis & particularly Manic Street Preachers were my favourite bands of the 90s - and both were progressive within themselves, if you see what I meanApprove

You gotta understand, everytime I am playing on the PC or in my cars my kids are saying "What the hell is that crap you are listening to?".

I love pop music. Lady Gaga, T.I, Rihanna it's all good. Whoever writes this music knows how to make catchy music that's easy to listen to. Perhaps it's the fact that I'm 16 years old that I have this tolerance for pop music. Nevertheless, while I like the hit singles from a lot of pop groups, this isn't music I will lay down and listen to for hours as I would prog. Listening to my favorite bands: Yes, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis, Rennaisance, Jethro Tull, ELP, PFM, VDGG, Gentle Giant... is like being at a five-star restaurant while pop music is like a fast food drive-thru.
