Hello Prog Achives,

My name is Steve (massively unimaginitive user name I know) I'm from Leeds in the U.K and have a real passion for music in it's many forms.

Ive just been browsing around the forum's and it seems that people are genuinly nice to each other on here. Pretty refreshing to be honest. Think I might stay a while.

I first got into prog when I was presented with a battered old cassette tape of Rush's Caress of Steel album and have since been doing my best to open my ears to every type of music available. I'm particularly into progressive/experimental/doom/stoner/death metal/avant garde/grind/sludge/tech/funk/blues/reggae/tabla/world music, but am always open for suggestions.

I'm a drummer in a couple of bands and a singer in another, I run a d.i.y venue in my home town and study music technology at the local university.

well thats enough about me Big smile
And to the tune of a billion dollars, I supplied to the D.O.E.
Some tasty little nuggets of alien technology.

Quite a few have solo projects...

I'll list the very few that I know...

Epignosis - He has a solo project and released an album called "Still The Waters"

Dean (Not sure of the rest of his username) - Released an album called "MOMENTS", under his solo moniker "The Cacophony of light", which was a sincerely amazing album.

Not sure of any others, sorry

Welcome to PA!

I believe there are pretty much members who are in bands. I'm in a band myself too, but that's just for fun with a couple of friends. You should check out the "Music and musicians exchange" topics on this forum if you're interested in that. Anyway, enjoy the archives!

Wow, both acts are excellent,

Re: Epignosis, you really play everything yourself? excellent work man, gonna have to make sure to buy the tracks when I'm no longer a monetarily insufficient student Cry.  As far as I can tell by the myspace samples the bridge between ambience and prowess is bridged wonderfully. Do you play live at all?

Re:Easy Money, the zazerac stuff is amazing, I knew instantly I was going to enjoy it before it even loaded though, as said in another topic I can's get enough of the P Funk and Herbie Hancock at the moment, add that to the tenticles and your surely onto a winner.

Does your band have any online recordings at all?

Can't wait to run through the archives, feel like there is an entire new musical egg to be cracked into the omelette. Big smile

heh heh its not as exciting as it sounds, its a basement underneath a pub, only about 100 capacity but were trying to do something different with the place, we put on lots of shows ourselves and rent it out to other folks. We try and focus on a fair pay policy so that bands and promoters don't end up loosing money for playing/putting nights on.

No, my band does not have any recordings. We are actually just covering some songs, it's more about having fun than making good music.LOL
