Yes, he's a really nice guy. One of my friends told him he saw him play in UK in late 70's and so the chat started, another friend and me went to buy some beers and when we came back there were no friends and no Rihard Sinclair; one guy told use they went to his room so we started looking for them, fortunately we found a guy that played with him the day before and we asked him which was Mr. Sinclairs room and he told us; so we went to knock on his door and he opened, of course he had no idea who we were but then one of my friends who was in the room told him we came with them, so he allowed us to get inside; we offered him a beer and accepted and we spend some time there, listening the answers he gave to my friend and watching he play just some chords on his guitar; we stayed there for less than an hour but was a nice experience. When we were already out of his room, i realized i didn't ask him an autograph! But on of my friends took some pics. |

Lucky: Santana, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Lou Reed, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, U2 (before they became really famous - fabulous concert 1984), The Cure, The Police, Gary Numan, David Bowie (twice).
Unlucky: Well where do I start? - Pink Floyd, Muse, Opeth, Tool, The Mars Volta, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney to name a few that have hit NZ shores. Of course I "cry" because I am unable to get to shows such as 3RP, and have never had an opportunity to see Yes, King Crimson, ELP or some of today's greats like Porcupine Tree, Phideaux, IQ, PFM, Gong and VDGG to name a few. Such a disadvantage living at the bottom of the world!!

co-incidence time again...
Lucky: Too many to mention.
Really Lucky: Focus secret gig in a pub near where I live - found out about it an hour before.
Unlucky: Didn't see Genesis in 1971 when I easily could have. Edited by Dean - August 17 2009 at 03:05 |

A man flew in a plane.
Unluckily he fell out of it. Luckily he had a parachute with him. Unluckily the parachute did not open. Luckily there was a haystack beneath him. Unluckily there was a pitchfork in the haystack. Luckily he missed the pitchfork. Unluckily he missed the haystack. |

LUCKY: Saw Genesis on the Wind And Wuthering tour at the Spectrum in Philadelphia P.A. I remember at one point of the show, they played an excerpt from Voyage Of The Acolyte but it's just been too long and I may be mistaken.
I saw PFM at the same place in the mid 70's. I don't remember who they opened for. They were outstanding! Again Wishbone Ash too. They had a very clean sound and were tight. ELP on the welcome back tour-Spectrum....astonishing. Steeleye Span + Strawbs at the Chesnut P.A....GREAT Hawkwind with Bridget Wishart fronting the band. They played lots of Calvert songs that night and Bridget changed costumes and wore disturbing masks. It was a fantastic Hawkwind show! Steeleye Span in Philadelphia during the TIME album tour. Peter Knight was incredible! Maddy Prior came into the audience and danced jigs! As she signed my ticket, a guy approached her with a jacket on that had all sorts of buttons. He said: Oh Maddy! We just love you here in Philadelphia! You are the greatest in this city! Maddy said: Well if they love me so much, then why don't they play our music on the Phila stations? UNLUCKY.....I saw Weather Report at the Tower Theatre just after the break up of the prime line up that had recorded Heavy Weather. I believe I had just purchased Night Passage that month. They had 2 percussionist from a music college with them. Wayne Shorter was walking about with an angry look upon his face. I was watching him from the side of the stage where I obviously did not belong. Show was not very interesting to me. Saw Hawkwind at the Ambler Cafe. I was expecting to see Hugh LLoyd Langton or Simon House and hoping to hear material from Xeon Codex. Instead there were 3 members and they played material from 72'. I walked out. I saw the original U.K. open for Al Dimeola at the Tower Theatre. During the U.K. performance, I could hardly hear Alan Holdsworth's guitar in the mix. Al Dimeloa came on and the guitar was crystal clear. I walked out. I saw Robin Trower at the Spectrum in 1974 and his guitar was too loud. I saw him again, not by choice, at the Tower Theatre and his volume level was that of a jet airliner. I left with my ears whistling and a headache. |

Luck: "Ruins", in Turku, Finland. I was in town shopping or something when I stumbled upon a poster on the wall announcing the gig. It was just a few hours before the show, so I got home and drank a couple of beers and went to the show. If was very nice indeed. I got to have a few words with the members too, and got some autographs :) I guess I was lucky.
![]() For the Badluck part: I missed a gig by Damo Suzuki (from Can), I saw the poster a few days to late... ![]() Edited by Rottenhat - August 19 2009 at 10:54 |

I'd like to add a story of mine to the list. I've been planning on attending Prognation on August 28th for a while with a friend. Since it was a Friday and I'm drum major for my marching band I had to make sure that there was no football game for my school. After they published that the first football game was later in the season I bought tickets with my friends. Then the school rescheduled, which is a real dissapointment.

Wow, I'm sure it was amazing. Animals is my favourite PF album along with Meddle, Wish and Atom.
And Pink Floyd is my favourite band. You don't know how much I'd have liked to see them! At least I saw Waters two years ago, and it's the best show I've ever seen.
