Topic: Between The Buried and Me's Fifth Studio Album Posted: July 07 2009 at 13:09 |
From the band's Myspace (http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=5137567&blogId=498860098), the lack of capital letter's is Tommy's not mine:
"hello everyone... writing to update everyone on whats going on with us at the moment. we have FINISHED! tracking our new record and we are spending this week mixing/mastering and all that fun stuff. its hard to believe we've been recording for 5 weeks already. everything went really smooth and we are very confident in the fact that this is some of the best material we've ever created. can't wait for all of you to hear it! we have LOTS of footage from the studio that will hopefully be part of a special edition dvd that will come with the new record... we will also be posting some studio videos in the next few months. our touring plans are starting to come together and we'll be putting up dates tomorrow, so be sure and keep checking back for that info. below is the album's title and tracklist. more updates as they happen! hope everyone had a good weekend.

"The Great Misdirect"
1. Mirrors
2. Obfuscation
3. Disease, Injury, Madness
4. Fossil Genera - A Feed from Cloud Mountain
5. Desert of Song
6. Swim to the Moon
OUT OCTOBER 27TH"
How awesome is this gonna be? Even though I can't say I like the album title or track names, after Colors I can't help but have high expectations.

So excited! And I rather like the album title and the track title "Swim to the Moon."
I really have no idea what to expect but I feel really good about it.

So excited...but I am scared it will be a dissappointment after Colors' magnificence...
Even more scared am I that they have switched to an all-polka, all-the-time mentality based on the success of the stray passage in Prequel to the Sequel....

My friends and I are pondering going to the Thunder Bay show, but BTBAM will only get opener minutes. In Flames would be nice to see though. I'm neutral on Protest The Hero and don't care for Killswitch Engage.
I would love to see BTBAM though.

Wow I'm pissed that Protest the Hero is only doing the Canadia dates. I don't want to see any of the openers.

Wait BTBAM isn't going to be the headliner, I feel. In Flames is probably the headliner. That's balls.

That's what I'm worried about too. It'll be impossible for them to top Colors, so I'm going to go in expecting to be somewhat disappointed. After all, you can't top perfection. Still looking forward to it with anticipation regardless.

^BTBAM is a smart band, and they know full well that Colors was a masterpiece. I think they're going to take some new directions on this one in an effort to evolve and not compete too much with the sound they mastered before.
