There's so much I need from Wayside...
Olive Mess - Cherdak MiRthkon Salle Gaveau's second Cheer-Accident's latest Miriodor - Avant! Plus a lot more stuff I cannot even remember right now I also need some more Canterbury-related jazz, such as Isotope and Mujician and some more Tippett and Hopper stuff. |

I have literally a table full of CDs I've not even listened to yet... I'm trying to take them all in first.
Plus I try and make a Wayside order once a month, or sometimes, once every two months. |

I suggested this band to be added to PA and they are already approved as the Math Rock team informed me:
Jardin De La Croix - A talented young band from Madrid, Spain, playing a fairly complex prog-rock/Math-rock Listen here: http://www.myspace.com/jardindelacroix The band offers their album for free download here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/01319e/n/Jard_n_de_la_Croix_-_Pomeroy_rar |

Battles: B EP and EP C could be of interest for the RIO/Avant crowd too i guess....
The EP's are much more interesting in my opinion, than if the "Mirrors" CD seems to get all attention... |

Not surprising, really. EPs by their very nature (limited releases, short running times, etc.) are bound to get less attention. Thanks for the tip-off though, I shall check 'em out on spotify very soon. |

This was posted as part of the Wayside newletter:
Hi, Two things before we get down to the business at hand: First, Aymeric Leroy has put together a very nice video tribute to Hugh Hopper with some great footage: http://www.dailymotion.com/ Secondly, I have been asked to curate a series of music for two weeks at The Stone in New York City in November 2011, which is quite exciting and really also quite an honor. I am going to try to get as many Cuneiform and Cuneiform-related acts to perform as possible. What this means is that there will be a number of these artists on the east coast who otherwise would not be here. To capitalize on this as much as possible, I am strongly considering something I have long resisted the idea of doing, which would be a Cuneiform Festival in Baltimore or Washington DC, in order to give the bands who have traveled the furthest another chance to perform. The funds are quite limited and the bands who would come are not necessarily the furthest-flung / hardest to see Cuneiform artists, but I would hope to have some combination of artists in the realm of: Cosmologic, Hamster Theatre, Led Bib, Mats/Morgan, Miriodor, Thinking Plague, Volapük and others (note: this list is just to give you an idea - I am NOT saying at this time that these artists would be appearing.) So, my question is: IF we had a festival like this at a theatre or space and the admission was in the $100 - $120 range for two days of music, is this something that would attract people, especially people who live outside of the Washington-Baltimore corridor? Please let me know your thoughts both positive and negative about this idea of a festival and your (genuine) interest or not in attending something like this : [email protected] Thank you! |

Cuneiform: Truly amazing label: So good that I ordered many discs straight from the USA, only to get harassed by the customs in Finland when they arrived. But it surely was worth it :)
Cuneiform on Spotify would make this person a happy man ... wink, wink :) |

By the way: The Hugh Hopper tribute was awesome! I would be wonderful to see many of those concerts on DVD. There was members from Volapük there on one of them I presume? Daevid Allen is getting older too I see, but a nice version of Wyatt's track there.
Great, great stuff. |

That sounds like a splendid idea, and given the success of the RIO festival in Carmeaux I think it could work. Of course, if it were possible to organise it in a more central location - London, for instance - it would be even better

I would beg my better half for many days to attend such an event. Price is reasonable, too. I might pay that just to see Volapük.

What a splendid idea! Assuming my bank balance looks rosier in 2011 than it currently does I would be totally up for an event like this.

Hmm, I would be tempted to go to that but hopefully I would be at school in November 2011.

"Guigou Chenevier possibly?"
I think I was mistaken. The Colorphone part with bass clarinet and violin had a Volapuk sound to it but It seems to be other musicians. |

Mmmmmm. I would definitely consider this.
Moreover, the Stone shows sound most delicious as well.

I appreciated it so much too. Does anyone know where the video of "Kings and Queens" coming from ? I didn't know this live version, unfortunately just few seconds in the documentary but it sounds really good. |
