Perhaps I should try the other albums out some day now that I'm warming up to Kayo Dot as well. I'll probably get Choirs of the Eye in the mail tomorrow, I've listened to it three times on Spotify so far.
Now I'm off to bed, I'll listen to some more Astra later. The first two tracks at myspace left a very good impression after all, thanks Scott for the tip  |
Good night. I really need to hear Choirs of the Eye, since that is the album people refer to as Kayo Dot's masterpiece. I have still only heard Dowsing Anemone and I thought that that album was horrible. Bad experience like that tend to make it hard for me to be interested in listening to the band's other works.

Choirs of the Eye is one of the best experimental metal albums I've ever heard. Although saying it's just a metal album doesn't do it justice. There's plenty of ambience, avant-garde, blues, jazz, and several other genres I'm probably forgetting. Might be one of my top 25 or so albums.

Not sure if you'd like Choirs or not, Scott. It does have less metal and walls-of-sound than DAwCT, but it's still really jazzy and avant-garde. It's not accessible music by any means, but when it finally clicked for me, it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever heard.

I thought that that one was OK. I've only given it a couple listens. It didn't really grab me as something that I wanted to listen to often, but it is probably about time that I give it another spin to see if my impressions might have changed.

Well, the first German course was a bust. Alles sprechen und kommunizieren, und sie sind genau meine schelchteste Qualität. Und so viele Wörte das ich nicht kenne. Und nur Deutsch-sprechen, niemals im Rumänische. Und ich habe alles über die Geschlechtswörte und die Modi der Verben und die Konjugationen und die Deklinationen.
