Don't understand your point. It's just debate. Besides, you can't expect every Christian to believe or see things exactly the same way.

The same with non-believers. Som think they know it all, some like me think we don't know anything, others think they know but act as if they don't and others know that they know much less than they actually have to pretend they know. In the end, we differ in degrees of not-knowing. From those like me who can't be sure about anything because we have no proof to thosew who are sure that god doesn't exist precisely because they have no proof.

That's not the same thing. Wink

I don't think he exists. I think there's no god. But I can't be sure, nor can I say i am sure.

Most of us atheists seem to agree with each other. Wink  Of course, agnostics do somewhat disagree with us though.

It's not uncommon for Christians to disagree, there are ,ore than 30.000 Protestant denominations.

Something that hardly happens among Catholics (still there are some traditionalist Catholic grioups that don''t agre with Vatican II) because  Catholics are quite different than the restt of Christians, we believe Jesus gave the Pope ifallibility in faith issues when talking "Ex Cathedra" plus the supreme authority

Quote

Matthew 16:18-19,And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

So we hardly disagree among us, because in faith issues, the Pope has the last word.

I was raised a roman catholic but when i realized that "The Almighty God" doesn't really exist I've been unleashed  from that delusion.

Just an interesting thing I'd like to note:

My close friend, who has always been VERY religious, (in fact he managed to talk 3 people into believing in Church and Jesus) and could be a little over the top with it sometimes....well, we recently were talking and he's had a "falling out" with religion.

He went on a long speech saying all the things I've been telling him for years LOL and couldn't help but laugh inside my head at the fact that him of all people, one who tried to convert people and "do jesus' work" now no longer believes in Church.

I don't understand the animosity people seem to have towards people who are religious.

Speaking for myself, I have nothing against people who are religious, and who act in a considerate manner. One of my best friends is quite strongly Christian, but he knows that he can't preach to me, or for that fact, most other people.

The problem I have with religion (and non-religious too) are the people who are too dogmatic. If you are not willing to accept that people will beleive what they want, how they want - whether it be an accepted beleif or crazy talk. Then you need a reality check.

Personal choice is what makes us human. Some beleive, others do not. Let us not fight over who is right (for that itself at this point in time is futile), but talk. Because communication is the key to acceptance and normalisation.

Wow, that was way too philosophical for me. Embarrassed

Things here in Penn State are still the same ol...

The EXACT same group of Atheists sit outside the exact same building all day long, (really all my classes are there today and they never leave...do they have any lives/classes?) and they "debate" the preacher.
I've actually become fairly good friends with him, he's a nice guy.

A few weeks ago was epic though. Some group is doing a nation wide college tour, seriously LOL and the 3 days they were here, were amazing! There was like 100 - 200 people gathered around them and the atheist club was up to their usual antics.
I have to be honest, I don't know who is more off putting.....these preachers spewing insanity, (and one is downright hateful) or these atheist losers. I want to hit both very hard.
