Weird Endeavors

I often play chess, checkers, Chinese checkers, etc. against myself.

I don't like the fact that I'm really musically tolerant. I always either 1) don't like an artist, but don't see anything to passionately hate about them or 2) I haven't heard enough to make a good judgment. Then again, why listen to bad songs just so you can criticize those who made them? Or maybe there's no reason to hate anyone. However, having something to hate is nice, I guess it's just psychology. But I really want a band to hate and a good reason to do so.

How did everyone get the idea that I don't shower? It's just that one needs to shower very often to stay perfectly clean. This is even more true for me with a long hair: sometimes I just don't have the time. I feel like I'm wasting my life away standing in the shower when I could be comparing race horses, playing online poker or writing a short story about a man who couldn't get a can of beans open. So sometimes, I admit it, I do give the shower a miss. Then, if I go to town, I feel people looking at me thinking, "Oh dear, that fellow sure hasn't taken a shower today!" I know it's my own fault, but sometimes I can't help thinking that all those judging gazes may eventually be too much for me to bear. And I keep wondering, "Oh, will I ever be one of those good people who are clean all the time?" And how clean exactly must I be for Winona to accept me? For I know Winona herself is extraordinarily clean, she probably takes a shower every day. How could I even approach her pure presence when I myself am such a mess? How could I show my appreciation to her knowing that I wore these very socks yesterday? How could I let her know that my love for her is much grander than what shines from my sweat-stained face? How could I do that? How?

How's about THIS for the ultimate weird endeavor?
I joined and became a frequenter of a prog site with little knowledge/liking of prog!

It wasn't for another year or two that my tastes really expanded to include prog.

I joined as someone who was vaguely, vaguely into prog at all, (my extent was Symphony X and DT (which some wont even take as prog)). So I joined to 1. be an ass   2. talk about metal  3. learn more about prog and help expand my horizons.

All 3 of those were done with great success!


And when I first joined posts were a good thing. The few had topped the 10,000 mark were like Prog-Gods and making 1000 for example was cool.   Now that the archives are, IMO, not as good as they used to be and thanks to the just for fun section it's pretty easy to skyrocket your count.

Speaking of which. How weird is this?  When I am bored I go onto PA, straight to the just for fun section and play these crazy dumb games.

I wonder what percentage of everyone's posts are Just for Fun posts. For me... 100% :(

And I don't think post count etc. matters for anything. I'm transforming into an audio sponge, absorbing everything I can get, prog or not, but especially prog. That's what matters; commitment to the greatest musical genre ever.

Yes, I've done that in Madden. Making every team's people have minimum stats for everything. Just goes to show I need a hobby......

And sometimes, I just go and walk somewhere. No destination. I sometimes think, where am I? It then turns out I'm in San Francisco.

I only walk relatively short distances because I'm afraid of sleeping in public.

Oh, and my post count is only 99.6% just for fun. Maybe like 4 were in a newbie welcome thread I created when I joined, thus not in the JFF section. So ha.

About 80% of my posts are "Just for fun", I think.
