Wow...Train of Thought is rivaling Images and Words for the worst Dream Theater album I've ever heard.  Dead

False. You've heard Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory.

Vasaarasia is almost the same as Kaarmelautakunta though, Rico...

Because, Käärmelautakunta actually means something, whereas Käärmelekunta is just gibberish.

I wanted to correct that too, but was too lazy to open the Character MapLOL....

The name means Board of the Snake, if my memory serves me right.

It's not just about the umlauts, I forgot the "lauta" part. Embarrassed

Yes.  Yes I have.  It is my favorite progressive metal album.

The second one's tad heavier, and I liked the music more.

Every guitar solo on Train of Thought is Petrucci shredding- incessantly.  The singing is grating.  Portnoy just plows through with double bass.

Myung and Rudess are the only positive points on this album I think.

I'll agree with you there.

But I still love Vasaraasia.  I don't dislike it at all.

One thought about Rudess, just came up as I was writing my Octavarium review. For such an accomplished and generally very fast keyboardist, he seems very prone to reverting to extremely simple piano parts whenever he wants to pull off an emotional effect or understated playing... seems odd to me.

This Federer vs. Soderling match is rather dull...

I may have to see what other games are on soon.

I rather like that about him, actually.

By the way, I must admit that I have not mustered up the fortitude to read your behemoth of a review for that album...I feel like I could listen to it in the time it would take me to read it.  LOL
