I'm most likely going to Prague this autumn with friends.

It's a wonderful city.

I went when I was 17 though.  That was before the floods and acceptance into the EU.  I still have some Krona too. Big smile  Not that I'd be able to use them, mind you.

Definitely navigate yourself toward Karlóvy Most (Carlos Bridge).  It's an absolute must.

I have no idea where my photos are but I have some from Praha somewhere.  I must try and find them and scan them in.

I wish I'd taken more though.

LOL

No, no. That "started" the Thirty Years War.

We were there the last year of it.

I love the word defenestration.

The thought of a special word for people who jump out windows, just amuses me somehow.

I know. I love the academic dryness and how evocative and silly it is.

Officer: Sarje, how did he die?
Sargeant: it seems he defenestrated himself
Officer: pardon, Sarje?
Sargeant: he jumped out of the window
Officer: why did you not just say that in the first place?
Sargeant: I did
Officer: no, you said something silly
Sargeant: see me in my office later...

That it is.

I love that book.

That reminds me, I have to read Mother Night.  I think (I haven't read it yet, obviously), that it's related to the story of Slaughterhouse-Five.

I love the black comedy in Slaughterhouse-Five.  I was reading it on the bus once and was trying not to giggle too loudly and make a fool of myself. LOL

I have the same problem when I listen to VdGG on my headphones whilst on the bus... not only do I want to tap my foot (and a lot), I also want to mime the lyrics.  I have to stop myself.

But she should be Wozniacka, that's if she's Polish.
