I haven’t been able to find out any info about this band apart from a YouTube Video.
They are not listed in Prog Archives; does anyone have any information about them?

I think they may be Finnish, since the video shows the logo of the national broadcasting company (YLE).

They're indeed Finnish, and the name of the band is Noidannuoli. I'm not sure if they recorded any albums, but I managed to find out that their music appears on the movie Musta Lumikki (1971). The band members are Markku Aitto-Oja (drums), Matti Hakaniemi (bass), Tarmo Halinen (guitar), Seppo Lindberg (flute, harmonica, sax) and Pertti Lindblom (organ). They're probably somehow related to other Finnish prog bands of that era (Wigwam, Kalevala, Tasavallan Presidentti), but I've never heard of them before.

edit: Damn, slow me LOL Well, pick your favourite Tongue

Now I'm interested. They appear to be a Finnish band called Noidannuoli (translates very clumsily to Witches Stick. Actually it's a word for an ancient superstition of an invisible weapon used by evil spirits and also more commonly a word for the back pain condition lumbago).

I've never heard of them before and all I could find was their line up (at some point at least), the fact that they recorded music for a film called Musta Lumikki in 1971 and that their drummer went back to the band Kalevala in 1974 after playing in Noidannuoli for three years. This is the line up I found:

Markku Aitto-Oja (drums)
Matti Hakaniemi (bass)
Tarmo Halinen (guitar)
Seppo Lindberg (flute, harmonica, sax)
Pertti Lindblom (electric organ)

Well, that goes to show how smart I am, noticing that YLE logo in the cornerLOL.... Incidentally, when working on my ill-fated PhD dissertation (which dealt with Finnish folk tales), I think I came across the word noidannuoli as a synonim for lumbago - the same meaning as Icelandic thursabit (giant's bite), the title of an album by band Thursaflokkurinn.

^Kudos to you for that Clap Tongue Next time I go to my regular record store I've got to ask the owner about this band, he has a lot of rare old prog vinyls (Mikael Åkerfeldt visits his store hunting for rarities when Opeth is in Finland but he won't pay the prices the owner asks Tongue) and I think he might know something about them.

If they aren't in PA this topic doesn't belong in this forum section.
