I couldn't make it either way, but I'm very sorry for Beardfish, as this would have been a great kick for the band's fanbase, I'm sure. And now I'm worried about both bands' upcoming releases. Will they be delayed or anything because of the label trouble?

Well I'm glad I didn't buy the VIP package. So I am back to figuring out how the hell I'm going to see PoS live..

Now I don't really care to go. Having to suffer through three bad acts just to see what I'm assuming is an hour or so of Zappa Plays Zappa....tough call.

Scale the Summit and Big Elf are cool bands... If Beardfish just pulled out for say Scale the Summit I'd be happy because I've just seen Beardfish, but no PoS, hurts..

Man, that sucks. I was considering going just for Beardfish. I really hope InsideOut is not about to fold.

Idk...I heard some Big Elf and it wasn't that good. Though I suppose I shouldn't judge after hearing so little. And I've never heard of theother band but the description given doen't sound all that appealing to me.
And you're right. I really had no aspirations to see Beardfish...but POS...

I am a huge POS fan and was very excited to finally get to see them live. And I bought both Sleeping in Traffic albums just because I knew I was going to see Beardfish live. Now I'm bummed out. This also makes a POS US tour in the near future look very unlikely. If their new album gets delayed I'm going to be very upset.

Unfortunately bankruptcy for SPV will have far, far reaching effects. It's the parent company of Inside Out, things are going to change in the world of prog.
They are not the first label/distributor to go under, it's almost a weekly occurence now, the industry has become so numbed that they've stopped holding wakes or even shaking their heads, but they are one of the bigger boys. Hopefully something can be salvaged. For PoS and BF, these kind of trips and tours are part of the good side of label support, but also when it goes belly up you are having the brakes applied to you whithout being able to do anything about it. It's bum news all round really. |

A big disappointement! And Mike Portnoy is trying is best to sell us that Big Elf and Scale the Summit are very good bands. They couldn't find any replacement of the same caliber as POS and Beardfish.

Guys, when I heard the news, I almost jumped for joy. Scale the Summit is IMO loads better than beardfish and pos put together. They're probably one of the most talented instrumental bands out today..give them a shot, seriously. |

Well I'm offically not going now.
With POS out the guy I was going with is only left with one band that he wants to see (and I as well) so we decided its best to save the money.
So close.

This sucks a lot. I have been looking forward to seeing POS greatly for a long time. I hope the label ends up ok. Maybe all the illegal downloading has something to do with it?
