Well it's Father's Day here in the U.S. and my kids knowing my current obsession got me Decemberists's Castaways and Cutouts (big thanks!) and as well we went to NW Beer Festival and drank many a great drink.  Nothing like a good nut brown ale.  There was a middling country band, but the pedal steel player was rocking ClapThe highlight of the day, for me, was seeing my son run into one of his students and her excitement about seeing her teacher.  That's what makes it all worthwhile.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

My son made me a lion out of a paper plate that said on the bow tie, "Dad, you're Grrreat!"

I won't tell you what my wife did for me.  That's between me and the missus.  Approve

Good thing I've got about... Two months before father's day in Australia

Another prog-gift will do well...

I got him Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream for his birthday, and since then he's bought Fear Of A Blank Planet and IN ABSENTIA

Perhaps DEADWING...
