Phil, I can't recommend the Soft Heap studio album highly enough.  5+ stars.

As much as I wouldve liked to have Jackson there, they still played great without him. There were perhaps two moments where I thought, damn...that would be awesome with sax. But they really fill out the sound nicely with just the three of them!

Yeah, there were times where the sax was missed, but the sounds these three make... wow... Man Erg and Sleepwalkers were superbly done. There were others less well done, but over all, it was a great experience.
Where were you sitting Phil?
We were in LL14,16

As for RIO stuff, I'll have to hold out on that ZNR purchase (I've had several albums to buy from them for some time now)... to bad, but I'll get it later.

Mentioning Kurai again, they share members with Yugen, but it is quite different. Too bad there are not much samples availalble. I need more listens, but it's quite an experience listening to it.

Hey...you were on our side. Tongue

I went with my dad, uncle, and cousin...we were sitting in PROM TT 4-10. Excellent seats (though I doubt there is a bad seat in the house). If you heard someone yell out 'The Aerosol Grey Machine' that was me. Big smile And yes, a few bumbles came up but they seemed to recover quickly. Hopefully one day they will return...this time with merchandise!

And I may order that Kurai album with my next wayside order. Its on the fence at the moment. Trying to decide between it and Soft Heap's studio effort.

It has been an age! I was saddened to hear of your sickness (read it many pages back)... hope things are better now. I'm well and looking forward to traveling abroad again next week.

Sorry everyone, for the non RIO talk...

I just got the SN also - I had the cdr before, but this is niiice to have indeed. :) Also just ordered the Steensland and the new Yugen [etc etc ;)] from Wayside - waiting w/ bated breath...;).

BTW, if you can find a total of over $40. of titles you want from ZNR [http://www.znrcds.com/], the shipping is free! And Steve there [the owner] is a really, really nice and helpful guy! I ordered the above from him, the new Deus et Machina too, and some Gatto Marte [both VG!]

Will do, thanks.

Hi, Patrick and James...
LE SILO's 3.27830 is a terrific one.
If you can't get it, I'll take a bit time and send it okay... Wink

In August, they will have a gig with Djamra or some indie bands in Osaka.

Pat, Greg Walker may have that second Le Silo album.

I got it when it came out in America (it was released in Japan in the December), luckily.

Oh and I have that Amygdala record and the new Nivraym.  I don't have the new Miridor though (only their first two on CD).

Well, I did get the new Miriodor, so as soon as I can listen to it I'll post an opinion.  I did really enjoy the track I heard on the newest Wayside sampler.

Along side Avanti! I received the remastered Nivraym from Koenjihyakkei, Combat Astronomy - The Dematerialized Passenger, and Amygdala s/t.  I really wanted to get the second Le Silo record but sad to say Wayside does not have any in stock anymore, it seems.  Cry

Quite interested in hearing thoughts on Neom and I almost ordered the miRthkon, well there's always more that one could get on Wayside, blah blah you all know the score on that one.  Wink

Oh and wanted to second the recommendation on ZNR that Cleo made - great service, they do have a pretty good selection - well worth checking out.

And the new Miriodor is indeed great, enjoying it a lot. Quite different than previous efforts.

There are 3 interesting and cool releases from Altr0ck which I mentioned earlier in this thread which you will like:
miRthkon, Kurai and Simon Steensland.

Other than that check out 高柳昌行's Complete "La Grima" or maybe some of his work with 阿部薫 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqjL1Td_niQ
