Topic: Could I be condemned, if my intentions were good? Posted: June 17 2009 at 10:05 |
A reference to The Black Halo, track 4 "Soul Society". The previous poll of this type (about "The Spirit Carries On") was rather successful (as it was nominated to be the worst poll ever, which was a compliment). But I don't know about this one. I don't think many people know about this story. I don't really know the story either, but I think the lyrics are quite straightforward:
How could I be condemned For the things that I've done If my intentions were good

This guy must have done something bad, and refused to confess, because he meant well.

They say "The road to Hell is paved with all the best intentions" and that's my philosophy too. I don't understand the poll options though.

Not only was The Black Halo a take on Faust, but it is a "part two" of Kamelots retelling of the story. "Part one" is the previous album, Epica. I believe that is where the band Epica got it's name from. It has a cheesey cover, but is nearly as good as The Black Halo, IMO.
I love to listen to these two CDs back-to-back... .as one would listed to Shadow Gallery's Tyranny and Room IV.
