Why, the Mets' of course.  What a relief it is to listen to the Yanks without needing to sift through their abominable broadcast.  I can no longer take that horrible John Sterling.  Holy smokes does that man need to retire!  I expect one of his last on-air blunders to go something like this: "It's going to be a 3-0, and the pitch... hit hard toward left, it is high, it is far, it, is... caught by the catcher in foul territory.  You know Susan it's hard to see from up here...".

Don't expect any comments on this, just had to vent.Pinch

Sterling's homerun calls are just embarrassing.  A selection from the interwebs:
  • Melky Cabrera: "The Melkman delivers!", "It's the Melky Way!", "The Melkman always knocks twice!"
  • Robinson Canó: "Robbie Cano! Don't you know?", "Cano can do!", and "A Ribbie for Robbie!"
  • Johnny Damon: "Positively Damonic!" and "Johnny on the Spot!" and "It's A Johnny's Rocket!"
  • Derek Jeter: "El Capitan!", "a Jeterian swing...", "a Jeter jolt", and "Oh captain my captain"
  • Hideki Matsui: "A thrilla from Godzilla, "An Upper-Decki by Hideki!"
  • Xavier Nady: "X marks the spot!"
  • Jorge Posada: "Jorgie juiced one!" and "Jorgie jacks one!"
  • Alex Rodriguez: "An A-Bomb from A-Rod!" and "Alexander the Great conquers again!"
  • Nick Swisher: "Jolly 'Ol St. Nick!"'and '"Nick at Night"
  • Mark Teixeira: "A Tex Message!" and "You're on the Mark, Teixeira!"
  • Jose Molina: "Jose, can you see that!"
  • Bobby Abreu: "El Comedulce!" and "Bobby Abreu as sweet as candy..."
  • Wilson Betemit: "You can bet on Betemit!" and "For the Betemit of the Yankees, Wilson hits it out"
  • Jason Giambi: "The Giambino!" and "It's a bash from the 'stache"
  • Tino Martinez: "The Bam-Tino!"
  • Don Mattingly: "Mattingly, smashingly!"
  • Gary Sheffield: "The Master Sheff!" and "A Sheff Special!"
  • Shane Spencer: "Shane Spencer! The Home Run Dispenser!"
  • Robin Ventura: "And Robin becomes Batman!"
  • Bernie Williams: "Bernie goes boom!" and "Bern baby Bern!"
  • Scott Brosius: "Brosius the Ferocious!!"

Oh, and Swisher's call has, since that list has been assembled, replaced with "Swishilicious," which might be his worst yet.

Dodgers survive a power outage.  No not HR power.  They had some wicked lightning storms last night in Arlington and tonight a bank of lights were out.  Still won though.

Rams suck. If anyone from LA stills roots for that team then they are lame.  That includes my mother in law. LOL Watch the movie "Major League" for confirmation.

The Rams go back to my childhood, we had a good friend in St Louis and when they won the 99 Super Bowl I remember him sending us a Cereal Box he got autographed by Kurt Warner.

BUT back to Baseball, Yanks go down to the Mets Cry Tomorrow we face Johann Santana, should be a tough one. Also, when did the Mets get K-rod????? My god I really slacked off this offseason

MY GOD!
Yanks up 13-0 in the 5th Shocked
Not to mention 9 runs against Johan Santana....pretty impressive.

Also, on a personal note I like seeing Gary Sheffield lose. He was good with the Yanks but guy had a quite problem with his mouth, couldn't seem to keep it closed.

Ah but that is after they left LA then?  Wink Does anyone remember that the franchise started in Cleveland ?

Yanks kick Santana's ass, Dodgers win 2 of 3 in Texas and the Lakers win # 15, # 4 for Kobe and # 10 for Phil.  Life (at least for sports teams) is pretty good now.Smile

The Tigers are paying a visit to their arch-nemesis the St. Louis Cardinals this week looking for a little revenge to offset the pain of losing the 2006 World Series to them.  Maybe a preview of the 2009 World Series, but only if the stars are aligned properly.

Dontrelle Willis needs to go back on the DL with that fraudulent mental disorder* again.  He's embarrassing himself, and the Tigers have only a three game lead; they can't afford to keep sending him out there to get shelled.

*Just to clarify, this is not dismissing mental disorders; I understand how devastating that stuff can be.  But Willis has been quoted time and time again saying that, basically, he felt perfectly fine and he DL'd just because he was pitching poorly.

Ahh, looks like the Yanks are going to play a few against the Nationals.
Never a guaranteed win in sports but this should be close LOL
