It was a quiet afternoon in Shredville, when all of a sudden the sound of saxophones and drums from a Buddy Rich tribute album rang out from the Shredville stereo system.  The citizens of Shredville, also knowns as the Shredders, were astounded by this amazing sound that sprung forth from nowhere.  They set aside their Meshuggahs, their John Coltranes, and even their Epignosises in order to crane their ears towards this marvelous sound.  And just then, the Professor Neil Peart starts banging the drums to a musical piece titled Cotton Tail, which harkened back to an earlier and simpler time.....stay tuned for further reactions.

I don't know about a collection of covers. LOL

But you know, I was in a band in high school, and we used to perform all three movements of "Channel One Suite."  That's why I asked you about it.  We kicked ass.  Wink

Sometimes I forget I am the only person in PA world who would stoop so low as to actually enjoy cover albums. ClownEmbarrassed

Covers themselves aren't bad.  I don't think I even own a covers album.  The Burning for Buddy one I lost years ago (probably one of my old college roomies has it or something).

I actually enjoy them, but they are rarely done well.

"South Side of the Sky" by Glass Hammer with a female vocalist and a bit of electronic elements thrown in, though....wow.  Better than the original.
