Incidentally, both Agalloch and The Decemberists hail from the same hometown as my dear husband, Micky - Portland, Oregon.

Well, yeah, I guess they're more experimental. They have post elements though.

If you read my review, you'll find an explanation - or look up the Wikipedia entry, which is not bad at all. It is a term taken from literature, denoting a particular genre of novel that became very popular in 16th-century Spain, but which had existed for a much longer time.
