Yes, sad thing is that I know I've been tricked, and listen to them anyway.

I missed having this sig; it's good to have it back. Now people can see my top artists (since 2005) and what I'm listening to.

I'm listening to Agalloch for the first time. It's my 3rd new discovery in a row.
Sounds good so far!

When I first saw the Prog Poll called "Sax players" earlier today, I thought it said "Sex players". Wow.

I've really been getting into post-rock/metal stuff more lately. I avoided the genre for a long time because I really don't like Godspeed, but Sigur Ros, Agalloch, and Explosions in the Sky are all absolutely excellent. I'll have to get more.

Oh, and I listened to an Iron Maiden album in full for the first time yesterday.
Oddly enough, I never have because I've heard a few songs from time to time and none of them particularly struck me. I finally got around to doing that, since my dad was a huge Maiden fan too. Powerslave was fantastic, and Seventh Son was even better.

That's great to hear ! I've been a fan of the band since their inception, and seen them live three times - the first in 1984, on their fabled Powerslave tour. They're one hell of a live act, and very nice, professional guys to boot. Anyway, if you want to hear them at their proggy-metal best, get Brave New World - I gave it five stars in my review, all very well-deserved.

That's awesome. Brave New World and Somewhere in Time are next on my list. What are all the bands that you have seen live?

I wouldn't call Agalloch Post-Metal.
However, they're really good. I have The Mantle and Ashes Against the Grain on CD.
