I'm officially referring to Alex and David as my minions from here on.

^ Don't mind me, I'm just the hypothetical best Van der Graaf Generator album and hypothetical best classic prog album ever.

I'm afraid to say that The Undercover Man cannot be separated from Scorched Earth.  They go together like a glove fits a hand.

Me too.

I also like some Damien Rice because I'm weird.

Anyway I'd pick Scorched Earth over The Undercover Man

I'd pick both.

As I said, it sounds odd not hearing Scorched Earth after The Undercover Man.  Even in concerts they play them back-to-back.

I'd just go with Still Life as my Best Of. LOL

The lack of anything from H to He is disturbing. I'd eliminate Still Life, add something from there, otherwise it's all good.

Oh, I'd probably replace Undercover Man with Scorched Man too.

Here is the Wiki info on Jeff Buckley.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Buckley

I had never heard of him until fairly recently when someone brought him up in another thread as being a singer that needed to be heard, but that we had lost way too soon.  Shortly thereafter I came across his Grace album so I picked it up.  I happen to be listening to it at the moment and was just wondering what others thought of him.

A-ha! Ideal setup for me (if album sides could provide for it):

1. The Undercover Man.......................................7:32
2. Scorched Earth.................................................9:43
3. Man-Erg............................................................10.25
4. Still Life...............................................................7:24

5. The Sleepwalkers..........................................10:41
6. House with No Door........................................6:30
7. Childlike Faith In Childhood's End.............12:24
8. Wondering.........................................................6.49

Total time: 69:68

Anyway, that's what's going onto my compilation CD!

I bought Grace in the mid-90s, enjoyed it, but after a while didn't play it too often.  Always thought it was a verry good album - I was surprised to hear many years later how Buckley and that album enjoyed sort of a cult status.

Grace is an excellent album.

It's just unfortunate, in my opinion, that so many covers of Hallelujah have been done in his style, rather than the original Leonard Cohen style.  Also, people are ignorant and don't realise it was a Cohen song originally.

I'd go with that. Clap

Although I happen to love Lost a hell of a lot and Refugees for that matter.  However, in a compilation like above, there simply isn't enough room.

You would need Squid 1/Squid 2/Octopus on your compilation.  Wink

You could also add him as a friend yourself.  That reminds me, you've not accepted my friends request yet. Cry

I shall tell him.

I'm also on Herb Diamant's friends list. Big smile

That's true.

However, I consider the above as an original studio tracks compilation.

Squid 1/Squid 2/Octopus is a bonus track, so I'd put it on a different VdGG compilation.

Oh, I haven't logged onto facebook in days.  I just opened an account to take those quizzes.
Next time I log on I'll add, but I never use the thing.  To be honest I may just delete the account.

Sent Scott a message. Wink

How are you liking it anyhow?

Unfortunately he doesn't have that missing last track but I'll ask Herb and see if he can help me.
