R.I.P. Shocked
I've just found out yesterday , what a sad moment (again) in music history. I just bought one of his solo works last month Two rainbows daily from 1980 and was very impressed. Truly said news.

I second that.   Heaven is blessed with a great bassist.   Hugh and Elton Dean are playing sweet music for the angels right now....

Thank you for your music Mr. Hopper. Playing Fourth, again. Been playing it all week. Peel Sessions 69-71 is up next.

In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

I did not hear of this news until last night.  I'm usually on top of these kind of things quickly, but one of my close friends died on the same day, eliminating my urge to look at the deaths of the day.

Jings! I only just found out.

Hugh Hopper was one of the most inventive bass players I've ever heard. Fantastic fuzz tone (and clean tone too), brilliant choice of notes, wonderful phrasing. I'm going to play Live at the Paradiso tonight.
