That guy's damn lucky. He'll see Univers Zero next, followed by Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree and whatnot during the summer.

The Decemberists gig was awesomeHeart! They're one of those bands who come across as genuinely enjoying what they're doing, and not going through the motions. And the live setting is ideal to bring out the strengths of The Hazards of Love... You could do much worse than check them out, if you get the chance to catch them in your area.

Speaking of which, a friend of mine just saw Magma live in Paris a couple of days ago, he was completely uninitiated in their music (I think), but he said it was mindblowing, he went wobbling all the way back home.

I would have loved to have seen that.

The Lie (Bernini's St. Theresa) = excellent.

I remember that being around April for some reason, though I could be wrong.

A trip to Paris would have been in order for you. He was already there.

I read today that 20% of Americans sleep less than six hours a night. I don't understand that. I can function temporarily with very little sleep, but I can't go on like that. Can it really be impossible for them to spare two hours from their schedule?

New thread title is in reference to this.

Agh! I'm envious.

I probably won't be seeing any concerts this year, because no one ever comes even remotely close to us. Angry

Does the consequence you are implying actually work? I've always wondered.

It has, but it's one of those things that doesn't happen nearly as often as people believe.  Usually a the "victim" just wakes up.

Hm, interesting.

I think you're correct.

Damn, need to sort my passport out so I can go to RIO Fest in September.

That's great!

I knew if they came around here, David would go in a heartbeat; so maybe I'll go with him if/when that happens.

I'd much rather see The Decemberists at the MPP than Animal Collective at the MPP.

Animal Collective playing MPP and MPP would cause a paradox, ending the world.

In fashion.

Yeah, and that's why I'll never get to see Magma. Ouch

So what was the set list?  What about that "cover song" somebody else mentioned?  I won't get to see them, so spill the beans! Tongue

That doesn't really surprise me.

I don't know how people do it either though; I need at least 6 hours a night. During this summer, I've been incredibly lazy and sleeping like 9 through 11 hours every night. LOL
