Alex, did you see my comments regarding the Terry Bozzio and the Metropole Orkest album from a couple of days ago.  I think it will appeal to both your Zappa and Henry Cow tastes.

No, I didn't, but that may have been because I was really busy for a few days.

That actually sounds really good to me.

The original Grinch is actually really good. Thumbs Up

Edit: MovingPictures, I've seen Truman Show like three times and so have my friends.
It isn't the right time of year for the Grinch now any how.  Although, I suppose that the Christmas in July cartoons will be making their appearances fairly soon.

I thought that Liar Liar was pretty good.  And Fun With Dick and Jane was kind of funny.  I don't really care for his brand of physical humor.  The ways that he can contort his face are pretty impressive, but I find them to be more of a distraction from the show rather than to be funny.

He's not great, but that's the point of the marathon.

There is nothing wrong with that.  There are a few actors/actresses that I would like to have all of their movies/TV appearances to watch a marathon of.  Other than some people that have only appeared in 1 or 2 shows/movies, I don't think that there is an actor or actress out there that I can say I have seen every movie that they were in.  Hmm, sounds like a new thread.

Without commercials you can actually do the 24 marathon in about 16 hours.  I've thought about that too.  I have the first 5 years of 24 on DVD.  I think that there are usually 4 episodes on a disc, and I usually watch them a disc at a time.  I haven't done a 1 day marathon yet though.

Well, the lady from the Berlitz School responded to my email (which included my resumé), and told me she'll call me early next week to talk about an interview. That would be fantastic! I love language teaching (it's perhaps one of the few things I can do wellWink), and the opportunity is too good to pass up. Hopefully the thing will go through... I am a bit tired of this 'permanent vacation', and getting a job I like will help me feel more of a part of society.

Buona fortuna Raff.   (I mean that in a positive Good Luck way.  The only Italian that I know is various forms of pasta.  I Googled good luck in Italian and that is what I found although further reading indicates that that is considered unlucky to say before someone goes on stage.

Big smile

Glad to hear.

More naricisstically speaking, the Latin exam today was a walkover. And by Monday evening I will be free of Plato for a long, long time. Though I kind of want to see if I can maul the rest of Phaedo sometime soon, and I have a couple of essays swirling around my brain on the subject.

On the minus side, the next two days will therefore be a mixture of blood, sweat and tears. Hopefully.

Well, that's sort of true. Actually, in Italy we refrain from saying auguri (best wishes) before exams and the like, and opt for the more picturesque in bocca al lupo (in the wolf's mouth), to which you must answer crepi! (let it die!). Buona fortuna is somewhat rare, and more formal, but it does indeed translate 'good luck' literally.

Alex, I took both your tests, and got an excellent 13/20 in the Jazz-Rock one, and an even more surprising 9/20 in the TD one. You know, using logic to do guesswork is not a bad thing after allWink!

Well, in that case, in the wolf's mouth; although, that sounds quite painful.  I suppose it is similar in sentiment to telling someone to "break a leg".
