I was lucky enough to win a contest on another prog forum that will give me the opportunity to introduce King's X on Sunday night! Gonna be great! Go to the 3RP website for more info.

^Ahh, you were the winner of that, it was a fun contest though it went on for quite a long time.

I will indeed be there, it's practically in my back yard. I'm especially looking forward to day 1, SIngularity, Phideaux, It Bites and IQ are all among my favorite acts.

Look forward to meeting you Roland. I just got Frequency yesterday, and watched the bouns live DVD-its awesom! Definitely pumped me up for them. I too am looking forward to day 1. They are all strong bands. Just starting to get into Edensong and Phideaux. It Bites'The tall ships is great. But Day 2 will totally rock. I am friends with the guys from Glass Hammer-they're from my town-Chattanooga, and I helped with the Tivoli show in 2006. Also, I've been a King's X fan for almost 20years!!!!, and only seen them once. The cool thing about me winning was that I missed the first few days of voting, and went back and looked if there were any hopefuls that hadn't gotten picked. I am fully aware that KX are not typical PROG. But I do know that a LOT of Proggers love em, and they were my "Wish" pick! Well, I got my wish......now what do I say in the intro???????????????

Yeshead,

My apologies, I forgot about this thread for a few days.

We'll have to hook up at the festival.  I'll be the one in the Genesis T-shirt Big smile

Frequency came to me the other day as well and like you, the DVD really got me going for the concert.  I'm really hoping for 'The Seventh House' which is far and away my favorite IQ song with honorable mentions to Guiding Light and The Narrow Margin.  I'm not exactly in love with Frequency, the album, though it's growing on me.

Edensong doesn't do a lot for me but the other four are among my all time favorites.  If you're not familiar with Singularity, I highly recommend them.  Their latest release, "Of all the Mysteries" is easily a four star album quite possibly a five star with the highlight being Islands, a 20 minute epic that really enthralls you the entire way through it.

It Bites is great as well, not only is it Prog, my wife loves it.

I'm less excited about day two though, I really don't know very much about Crack the Sky, I didn't quite enjoy the samples from Syzergy's web page.  I used to play with the drummer for Persephonie's Dream, they're a solid band.  I really do like everything that I've heard by Glass Hammer so they're one of the big highlights for Day 2 and King's X . . . well shoot, what can I say but they're a great band.  I saw them back in 92ish and I still get goosebumps everytime I remember their live rendition of "Over my Head".

What do you say at the intro, I think you started to hit on it right there.  "They've been around in the same incarnation for the past twenty years.  That's longer than most marriages these days.  Their continued dedication to their music and each other sets the mark that bands will strive to for years to come.  I saw them once, twenty years ago and they rocked then, let's bring 'em on to do it again, here's King's X"

Sorry, something off the top of my head.

Either way, I'll be the one in the aisle seat of row five on the left of the stage, cheering you and them on.
