Topic: Progressive Nation 2009 live at Brookhaven NY Posted: May 31 2009 at 04:04 |
Dream Theater, POS, beardFish and zappa plays zappa Sat Aug 08, 2009 at Brookhaven,NY. Brookhaven Amphitheater. Hello fellas I am very proud to say that once again I'll have the honor to experience Dream Theater live on this great coming up tour. I have never seen Pain of Salvation. I have been a fan of the band for sometime now and I thought that i will never going to see them live here in the USA. That was because of the lack of touring they do in the states. I am very new with Beardfish but I had heard. it is very good arent they from Sweden as well? well Opeth, Paatos, POS ,Evergrey, Ritual, Carptree, Anekdoten, Aglangard and Beardfish are from Sweden. wow! isn't that amazing or what? well, it is going to be an awesome festival. Well, Who else is going to this venue?

I got my tickets 2 days ago, the venue if you've never been there, is absolutley incredible. Not as nice as some places in the city I've been to, but regardless, I'm really glad Dream Theater's coming here .
Me and my friends are gonna be there to see beardfish, then we're gonna walk around the place and avoid PoS and Zappa Plays Zappa (not very big fans, I find PoS to be very, very, very boring, and Zappa Plays Zappa is well...a cover band), probably buy a t-shirt then and get food or something. But we'll be back as soon as Dream Theater hits the stage.
It's such a change not having to stand online for 3 hours before gates open, sometimes seats with venues are so much more convinient. Considering we're used to going to the city to see A LOT of general admission shows, this is gonna be pretty sweet, and a rather relaxing show, not having to fight to keep my spot against the rail.
I'm really, really, really looking forward to this gig!

Hey ! Me too I got my ticket 2 days as well. Yeah I never been at this concert hall before so I am looking forward to it. I had seen DT at Jones Beach several times in past tours and i wasn't too happy with my seat and the sound. So this new for me, and I am hoping isn't too far! and good I live in Newark NJ, but that is a saturday and that is why I chose to go there. I was thinking of going to their show at the Convention Hall( friday night) in asbury park NJ, but this is kind of far from home too. walk-around during POS performance? I know some of their song are hard to get into. it took me awhile to get into their music, but once it clicks it really did and now I really dig them. Yeah i know what you are saying I agree. last year when I saw DT at the Terminal 5 in NYC. it was a all standing show and after while you do get kind of tired. And as you said "not having to fight to keep my spot against the rail". AND all those young kids doing that mosh pits was very disturbing and annoying! So lets meet up PM me when the month is near.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutley LOVE general admission shows, they're the best IMO, you don't have to be a part of a fan club or have a pre-sale code to get 1st row, all you have to do is wait on line for a few hours, it's just a nice change of pace, is all. And I also absolutley LOVE pits, I've only been in a few, but it's exciting, I guess it's just for some.
But meeting up sounds great, I'll PM you around August
Have you ever been to this venue?

Well last night I committed to drive several hundred miles to Milwaukee to see the show. I've seen DT before so I'm almost more psyched about the rest of the line up.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

True, True, True..it was my first time I saw The band front row for 55 Dollars. I can't complaint about that, but I am getting kind of old. I'll be 39 on the 26th. I guess that also explain why I can't enjoy the mosh pits.
Sure buddy! we keeping in touch!

Since they're playing at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (where we'll see The Decemberists next week), I think we're going to see them - even if neither of us are DT fans (far from that !). However, we'd both like to see them live, and I'd particularly love to see Queensryche, a band I've always had a weakness for.
